This was our first cruise, if we do another we will likely bring another couple with. Much of the ship's activities felt like we were trapped in a timeshare seminar with all of these people telling you how great their products are and trying to get you to buy stuff, I mean the first shop that you see when you walk into the ship is a shop on selling your next Cruise! The casinos are expected I guess but that's just not for us. We really expected more activities outside or available to adults, and there were a few but they were very infrequent. I think bar trivia saved us from being bored out of our minds. There was a lot to do at all the ports, and you get out of each City something personal. I really enjoyed the Exotic fruits out of the fruit stands in Honduras and I liked a lot of the shops in Cozumel. But special tip if you are buying alcohol buy it in Honduras or Belize, it is way cheaper in those countries then at one of the shops in Mexico or on the ship :-) everything on the ship is really expensive.

Great food in the buffets and at the restaurants. But drink prices were different from bar to bar all over the ship, no consistency.

The water slides never had a long line but it took forever to go, it actually took two minutes between people going on a water slide. And the lines for the Flowrider were very long. If there were only 15 people there it would take over a half an hour for you to get a try and if it was your first time you would fall down in a couple seconds and then you're done, it was the next person's try. So that really wasn't worth it, and it wasn't worth the $300 for a private lesson either. Some of the pool games and Court games were pretty fun. But they were very few of them. We ended up playing bar trivia as much as possible. I really didn't come to a inexpensive Cruise to waste money in a smoky Casino or go to extremely overrated art auctions or watch or jewelry shows. It was like being trapped on a ship with timeshare sales all the time. The rock wall is all right, but you can only climb it during one part of the day since it's too hot to grab the handholds in the middle of the day. And they only use a tiny portion of it, only one person is ever there working this great climbing wall and they only open the kids sections for kids and adults. None of the more technical stuff was open the entire time we were there, they were not staffed enough to belay anyone even though they have top rope set up all over and they would not allow you to belay anyone even if you could show them you're an experience belayer. The gym area was very nice however, they offered a lot of good machines clean towels and space. With that said any of the classes you'd like to do were expensive. And for such a new ship, they have ancient spin bikes that we're breaking down every class.
Entertainment

I had high hopes for their shows, but there Saturday Night Fever musical, Ice shows, and comedian and shows they would do out on the Promenade we're awful. Maybe they were Cruise Line good, but this is my first cruise and I expected a lot more from an expensive Cruise like this. Their game show with married couples was pretty funny and there movie selection that they showed was pretty good, but there again we spend $3,000 how to take a cruise only to watch a movie I could get on Redbox for a dollar fifty but it was one way to pass the time. The piano bars had decent music, but again it was just kind of boring,
Service and Staff

Our room attendant was first class! We were went well attended to and it was spotless. All the ship service members were very friendly and almost always very helpful.
We did an ATV jungle Adventure and book it ourselves. We found it to be almost $80 cheaper for the two of us, we were picked up by the company at the port and they are holding a sign with her name on it, we then had a two-person/ and to guide trip. This was way better than having 8 or 10 people doing follow the leader down a crowded Trail.
In Belize City I booked a two-tank scuba package online and not through the ship again. I saved nearly $100 doing this, and it was only one block outside the port. This was a great 8 person dive boat that took us to the Barrier Reef, which no Ship Excursion even offered.
I booked another 2 tank dive for Cozumel also. I booked it on my own and not through the ship's excursions. Everything I booked online was through TripAdvisor and had great ratings. It was a 5 minute taxi ride which was $6. The place had great year and offered a great dive package. And this one was $120 cheaper then what the ship excursions offered. It was again in 8-person plus divemaster day. I got to Buddy up with another Advanced Open Water diver, and we had an experience tailored to our abilities and not to a large group. Booking outside of the ship is by far the way to go. All of these companies go out of their way to make you have a good time and do not believe the slight scare tactic the ship says about leaving you behind. No one is ever left behind!
Barbz5768350, it is a very reasonably priced cruise! We were trying to decide whether or not to buy the drink package, if you don’t mind do you by chance remember how much drinks (if you drink). Also, this is our 7th Cruise, we usually have done NCL in the past and that so far are our faves, have done Carnival, (my very, very least fave cruise!) Looking forward to RC Cruise, as it’s easier for us to cruise out of Galveston. We took RC 15 years ago as our very first cruise, but was only 3 days and enjoyed it.
I hate that they try to spend so much time selling you stuff. it wouldn't be so bad if the deals were actually better. on some of the duty-free Liquor on the ship it was actually cheaper to buy it at one of the discount shops back in Houston then it was to buy at duty free on the ship once you added in the tax for importing it into Texas.
Appreciate your reviews! I agree, going with another couple will help. My husband & I enjoy each other’s company, but we always have more fun when we cruise with others. We don’t gamble, drink, do bingo, or the art, but still manage to have a great time! Hope your next cruise is better! 😎
Taking our 7th cruise on Liberty I a few weeks. Obviously we really like the ship. We just ignore the sales pitches and keep walking straight to our fave bars! Cruising may just not be your thing, and that’s okay. Also, Liberty is actually a very reasonably priced cruise.
nine cruises with Royalcaribbean was never bored on any of the ships you have to entertain yourselves sometimes don’t give up on cruising I love to cruise
