Review summary

We only had two slight issues on our entire week aboard the LOS. We went to Johnny Rockets one afternoon and had lunch and we each ordered a milkshake and we got charged for the milkshakes even though we had the deluxe drink package. We went to customer service and the woman was extremely rude and said no milkshakes are never included from Johnny Rockets. I tried showing her the Royal Caribbean website with the information that YES it was included and she dismissed us and said she would know if they were included. It was only $10 so we gave up as it wasn't worth the hassle. The other issue was with the Next Cruise group. We went on day two and wanted information about Alaskan cruises. When I told her we really were looking for something that didn't have two sea days in a row, she was very rude and said well you should just take a 3 night carnival cruise.

Was slower than normal because the photograph system while getting the sea cards was down so we had to get the pictures taken when we boarded the ship the first time! A little over an hour from getting dropped off to walking inside the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at Chops twice, the food was incredible! Johnny Rockets was amazing as well. We only had lunch once and breakfast once in the windjammer but it was just OK. Typical buffet type food. We had room service one morning and the rest of the time we just ate in the MDR. We were only eating twice a day as we were so busy every day.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pool was packed (of course) so we only went in once however we really enjoyed watching the movies at night by the pool.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw the Quest on the last night of the cruise, it was hysterical! We didn't catch Love and Marriage live, but did see it on the TV the next day and it was very cute. We had a great time at the 70's dance party and the Dreamworks parade!

Service and Staff

Our cabin attendant was Roy and he was amazing! Went above and beyond for sure. We also had an amazing waiter in the casino (Jorge) and we really enjoyed his sense of humor. We left feeling as though we both made a new friend!

Ship Quality

The hallways to the room were a little musty smelling but the room was lovely. We had the corner aft cabin and noticed that some of the kids on board liked to throw empty bottles in to the corner. We also had a lot of kids playing ding dong ditch with our room.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The bed was too hard for my taste but we were so tired every night, we did fall right t sleep. We noticed a lot of rocking but heard on day 3 that it was because of the swells and being AFT. The balcony was lovely, even with the support beam right outside the door. We had 2 lounge chairs, a small table and 1 regular chair on the balcony. We would have loved to have 2 regular chairs instead of the two lounge chairs but didn't realize we could request a change until the last day.

Ship tip

Carry your cruise compass with you throughout the day so you don't miss anything.

We did the Infinity Bay beach break with Lobster lunch. It was amazing! Our tour guide Smit was so much fun and our driver Jose was amazing as well.

Belize City, Belize

The tendering was insane! Our excursion was to Starfish Island (we won't do that again) and by the time we left the island and got back to the boat, we had to stand in line for another hour to take another tender to Belize City. By the time the tender arrived and everyone on it got off, we lost our place in line because people getting off jumped right back in line in front of all of us waiting for an hour. By this time it was 3pm and we were afraid that we would not make the tender back to the ship if it happened on land so we didn't get to go to the port itself.

Cozumel, Mexico

We did the Salsa, Salsa Margarita excursion and it was great! Definitely worth the cost. Shopping in the area where the ship docks was great.

I am getting worried about their customer service as I am getting ready for it on 9/2/2018. Hope they might have replaced the rude staff.

Website promo's or new policies and personnel on the ship. The ship board folks get a memo of anything, it takes a good month before word gets around sufficiently, save your invoice and contact corporate, they will reverse it.

Wow! That’s amazing customer service.... they should honor the drink packages as published. I don’t know specifically about all Alaska cruises but they could have at least gone through their published itineraries with you. Sounds like you got two disgruntled employees in the same day. How was the rest of the cruise though?
