Pros: ship was clean and staff was friendly. Entertainment was great. Captain gave us an informative update every day. The staff did a good job making sure everyone washes their hands constantly. Cons: They held a piece of my luggage until I opened my bag and they could check my shampoo bottles- not sure what that was about. Then I had to get it to my cabin myself. It was 4th of July week so the ship was extremely crowded. The two small pools on deck 11 had signs that said capacity 17, yet there were about 50 in each pool- felt like sardines, so we didn’t get to go swimming. Almost everything seemed to have a fee associated with it- good, activities, etc.
Embarkation

Our muster station was in the main dining room. It was quick, easy, and painless. The cruise director was funny.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining was great. The wind-jammer had a great variety of food for breakfast and lunch. We ordered room service for breakfast once. It was not good at all! Johnny Rockets had fantastic food and friendly, upbeat, and entertaining staff. The Prominade (Coffee, Sandwhich, and Pastry shop) and Sorrentos always had long lines. Waited in line 15-20 minutes each trip.
Onboard Activities

The daytime activities were underwhelming which left us wanting to spend times on the pool decks. I guess everyone else felt the same way because that’s where everyone was. It was so crowded. We spent a lot of time in our cabin during the day.

Everyone was friendly and accommodating, but it’s hard to explain...They weren’t that personable.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Our room was straightened twice a day and the ship was always clean. They preach about washing your hands and there are hand sanitizer stations all over the ship. We stayed healthy throughout our cruise and all the way home.
It was so hard to get off the ship. There was bad weather the day we were at port. They tender people who book excursions with Royal Caribbean first. It’s about a 15-20 minute tender. We didn’t make it off the ship until almost 10:15. We had a blast on our excursion- zip lining and cave tubing.
There are no beaches at this port and is not authentic. When you step off you see hundreds off gift shops, a Margaritaville, Hard Rock, Senior Frogs, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. On our excursion, we rode ATVs and swimming at Jade Caverns- Warning- there is so much sulfur in the water it smells like rotten eggs!
And the funny thing is, oceanwaver, you can bring two 750ml bottles of wine per stateroom onboard in your carry on... Oh well... I guess some people have to try to get around the rules.
Still...that makes things difficult, sometimes, for the rest of us like Kristy...
Thanks for the very informative review, Kristy! I pray your next cruise is less crowded (take one during the Fall or Spring to avoid the crowds)... 😊👍🏻
