Royal Caribbean used to be the top of the line shipline; however, Carnival has a lot more for what you pay for. I've been on 12 cruises and will not return to RC. They just charge for everything now. Should be all inclusive like it used to be except for drinks.

Food and Dining

Always an upcharge with this ship. Room service is not free anymore, aeema like everything you want to do they charge you for. One ice cream machine for entire ship and food was not great. Raw steak and undercooked desserts too. Frozen desserts for sure. Very hard to get ice tea. There are zero eating places by the pool. You have to go to the cafe or the mall and wait in long lines.

Our state room attendant was awesome. Long long wait times on elevators.
Ship Quality

Ship was not super clean. Lots of dust in the windjammer cafe around poles. The floor stayed dirty. Ship was pretty and the mall area was cool. Too many places charge money even for ice cream at Ben & Jerry's.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was awesome and stayed very clean. Our attendant even folded our dirty clothes over and made them really neat.
The big 3 lines are all doing that now. The flip side is they've added options that weren't there before. Some are fine with the old options and don't want to pay more for something they don't need. Those that do can step up and pay more. A lot of people don't want internet. If they raise base fares so it's included for everyone, a lot of people won't like having to pay more for something they don't want. In Carnival's last financial call with investors they disclosed the largest source of new revenue growth is from on board charges. Which ever line you end up sailing, just say no to the things you don't want.
