Review summary

See embarkation. I would appreciate a call from regarding this. Someone did contact me about what the cruiseline is offering for our inconvenience. Unfortunately we were still in floods when the person called and had minimal phone battery.

Embarkation

The cruise was cancelled after several emails postponing embarkation. The cruise finally cancelled well after the cruise was scheduled to leave. Because of all the postponements and not cancelling at a reasonable time, our family and friends made the trip to Houston to make our way to the Galveston Port. We were stranded in Houston, in the storm and floods while the cruiseline still postponed the time of the cruise while the storm raged. We were in danger in a hotel that flooded, the roof was falling in, unable to get out. I am very upset that there were no alternatives offered by the cruiseline after members of our family and I called multiple times while flying down to Houston. We asked whether we could go out of other ports on another ship, could we choose a different time. We did not take insurance and during one of my calls was asked by one of the agents "I suppose you took insurance." She had pulled my account by its cruise number, I am sure she could see I did not. Even during a stop at a connecting airport I contacted the cruiseline, I was provided an emergency travel number for the cruiseline which helps customers figure out how to get to a cruise port if you miss your original embarkation port.

Could not get to it, the Port was closed by the National Guard, but the cruiseline kept sending emails stating we were still scheduled to leave. I contacted the cruiseline asking how to get in there as it was closed because of the storm and was told I then needed to find an alternative route.
