Review summary

This is the first time with Royal Caribbean cruise. We really enjoy our cruise. Even we encountered the Hurricane Harvey and could not land on the Galveston as planned. The ship redirected to Miami and let us get off the ship and returned to home safely. The guest service worked very hard to assist all of guests for their needs such as booking flight, answering various questioned about returning home. The cruise provided us 30 minutes free internet service per day and free ship to shore phone call. The captain James held several captain corners to keep us informed about the ship direction and answered questions. I believe the Royal Caribbean provided us with excellent service during this difficult time. They tried to calm down all of passengers during this chaotic situation. On Monday (8/28) 5:30pm, they had captain cocktail with all crew officer and captain James to have a good time together in the Promenade (5th floor). On 8/29, the CEO welcomed us in the air when the ship arrived on Miami port. It really cheers us up.

Disembarkation

The ship was stopped at Miami. We departed from Miami and booked another flight to go home instead of staying on the board. We appreciate that the Royal Caribbean provided us the free transportation from Miami port to the Fort Lauderdale airport.

kegs08    7 years ago

Where do I get that at

trb    7 years ago

@kegs08, suggestion bring a noise machine wich is smaller then a fan.

NO - sodas are not free. Unless you purchase a beverage package, they are close to $4 each inc tip. Royal Caribbean's official stand is no sodas can be brought on board. However, on our May cruise on the Radiance we had no problems bringing three 2 liters of Diet Coke, 2 of Sprite and a 12 pk of bottled water . Per advice from a long-time RCI customer, we just packed them in our 22" carryon and checked it along with our other luggage. It arrived in our stateroom with no problems. We made no attempt to hide it.

I would be fine with out a fan but my boyfriend he needs it to sleep 😂 the noise of it.. Another question when does topical storms really start the worst of them we are going the first part of August next year

sassyjen    7 years ago

Don't need a fan, sodas or water don't bother. Ship is usually cold inside bring light jacket. Water is free and sodas and tea usually. The best cruise ever!! We had a 13 day cruise and so happy we stayed on board only paid for 7 days, all kinds of freebies and great shows. Stay away from casino, does not pay! Lost lots of money but it was still fun!

Thank you for the update on this trip. Royal Caribbean is a very good cruise line and we have never had a bad trip. We will be sailing on the Liberty again 1-20-19 for a birthday cruise. Very excited!! Glad you are home safe and sound. 😊
