Review summary

We were in the Presidential Suite.......who would think that us little old average Texans would be residing there, but due to my diamond status and a good sale and Haley's help, we arrived.  The amenities afforded that room are awesome.  The concierge (Jorge Gutierrez) was the nicest and most helpful person I have ever met on any ship and I have cruised a lot and on about 6 lines.  He gets six out of a five star rating.  The ice show was very good, but was unimpressed with several other shows and would not attend any others unless pressured by a group I was with.  Some of the best entertainment on the ship was in the lounges and the guitarist Wojtek Kozikowski (and yes, I had to look at the cd I bought to spell it correctly) was outstanding.   His hands flew over his guitar and everyone got goose bumps when he played Malaguena.  Just sitting and listening or watching people dance in the lounge on the Promenade deck was a joyful experience.   I hope he is still there on our next cruise, and we will spend a lot of time listening to him.  A guitarist or pianist that are as wonderful and talented as this guy, really appeal to those of us that do not like silly types of entertainment.  The Windjammer has the best food on the ship (other than Chops, and their steaks can't be beat !)   The Chef's Table experience was very enjoyable, but would like it more if recipes, more talk about the kitchen and the people that work there, etc.........were included.  Lots of wine was served, but we were more about the food and fun presentation of that food.  I would want them to make it a seven rather than five course meal, and have more fun with the appetizer, salad, and desserts in their presentation.  It was a wonderful trip and we are booked in that room next year and the next............we really really liked it and it suited our style of cruising.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The Windjammer far outshown the dining room for temperature and taste and variety of foods

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Did the cupcake decorating and it was not worth the money, although the laughs when people had animals heads falling off were good. If anyone actually ate the cupcakes, they probably got sick from the amount of sugar and butter. Not enough variety of decorating experience. Not enough enthusiasm from the presenter.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Best entertainment on the ship was the guitarist Woktek Kozikowski............we loved listening to him, and took home his cd to enjoy his talent again...........

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Jorge Gutierrez and his staff in the Suite Lounge were wonderful. They were positive, friendly, worked hard to please, and fun to be around.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin number was 6414........not 3414........... It was wonderful. The arrangement allows for a lot of storage, and room to play games, sit outside privately, and make your own morning or whenever, coffee or tea. Each of the four bedrooms had its own temperature controls.....nice.....the amenities are super.............the beds are quite hard but we liked them.

Ship tip

Wear good supporting shoes, as you will do some walking to get to your goals. This room is very convenient to all eating areas and lounge, but the entertainment is on the other end of the ship. Bring cash dollars to tip the people who serve you well. They really appreciate it.

I think the Presidential Suite is my style too. Maybe someday I can afford to test that theory.
