Review summary

When the mid cruise movie is "On Golden Pond" it should give a clue to the type of experience this is.  The service was good, the food was good and the entertainment was very good but there wasn't anything exceptional about the cruise. The Chops restaurant was not great (specialty dining), the boat was showing some age and the experience was geared to a much older clientele.  The kids program was very good but still needed some improvement.  Considering that we could have gone on 2 Carnival cruises for the same cost, I don't feel or see the value on Royal.  One last thing, the crew works very hard but very few seemed to enjoy their work.  Some were great but definitely fewer than on other cruises I've taken.

Clean but showing some age. Example: Curtain blinds had holes in them and should have been replaced.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great room but if you are motion sensitive, the front of the boat is not for you.

Ship tip

Don't cruise on a longer trip if you're under retirement age. I love older people but you wind up getting in each other's way and kids are not generally welcomed guests. It's simply a slower and quieter pace.

AngieGG22 don't worry too much. My kid loved Liberty of the Seas, even though she enjoys the teen club on Carnival more. The organized activities for kids are ALMOST as good as Carnival, which is almost as good as Disney. As for entertainment, maybe the older one thinks cupcake decorating is beneath him but the younger one will love it. Also, you're not going to see very many ice shows on a ship, that's worth getting the early dinner seating.

swillson by then she will be out of dry dock and like new. I promise you will enjoy your cruise. There will have been changes but for the better.

Swillson57 you are going to love the Liberty. It's the most beautiful ship we have been on. It's our favorite for sure.

We are taking the Liberty at the end of February. We have not been on this ship but we really like RCCL.

I don't know how old you are and don't really care. You didn't mention unfortunately we had really bad weather and alot of the things to do outside were canceled. Again not RCCL fault it's yours for the time of year you booked. We are at the specialty resturants and they were great. Liberty goes into dry dock in January for her renovation. All this your travel agent should have told you. There was plenty of things to do everyday.

I personally have LOVED Royal Caribbean when I have cruised alone with my husband... Most amazing experience ever!

Ekkkkk! I just booked Liberty with my 15 year old son and 9 year old daughter... I was afraid of the entertainment they would have for them... We've done Disney and Carnival before... I might cancel....

Mh as far as I'm concerned I don't want you back on a Royal Caribbean voyage. Please stick to Carnival.

Good heavens. I wouldn't go back on RC.

This review is quite subjective. You really don't know who in the crew was enjoying their jobs... the fact that they did not met your, probably, very high expectations, does not mean they were not enjoying their jobs....
