Review summary
When the mid cruise movie is "On Golden Pond" it should give a clue to the type of experience this is. The service was good, the food was good and the entertainment was very good but there wasn't anything exceptional about the cruise. The Chops restaurant was not great (specialty dining), the boat was showing some age and the experience was geared to a much older clientele. The kids program was very good but still needed some improvement. Considering that we could have gone on 2 Carnival cruises for the same cost, I don't feel or see the value on Royal. One last thing, the crew works very hard but very few seemed to enjoy their work. Some were great but definitely fewer than on other cruises I've taken.

Ship tip
Don't cruise on a longer trip if you're under retirement age. I love older people but you wind up getting in each other's way and kids are not generally welcomed guests. It's simply a slower and quieter pace.

AngieGG22 don't worry too much. My kid loved Liberty of the Seas, even though she enjoys the teen club on Carnival more. The organized activities for kids are ALMOST as good as Carnival, which is almost as good as Disney. As for entertainment, maybe the older one thinks cupcake decorating is beneath him but the younger one will love it. Also, you're not going to see very many ice shows on a ship, that's worth getting the early dinner seating.
