Review summary
Our first port stop required a tender to get to shore. RC's policy is that all passengers that have shore excursions booked with RC board the tenders first. Despite the fact that we were among the first 40 people in line to leave the ship, because we had booked a private excursion, we were required to wait over an hour before we could board a tender. We met our tour guide over an hour after the time she had notified us we'd meet. I found out after that if we had "begged" the concierge to board an earlier tender, we might've been able to leave earlier. From a business standpoint, it makes no sense to treat passengers (in our case we had a superior stateroom with balcony on deck 10) who pay approximately $500pp for a stateroom as second class passengers or give passengers preferential treatment who may have reserved a much less expensive stateroom just because they booked a $30 beach shore excursion through RC.
