For those booking or who are booked on the Koningsdam- TAKE WARNING! We just got off and had major problems with our cabin. If you are booked in a mid-ship balcony cabin on decks 1, 3, 4 and 5 you will not be able to go to sleep prior to 11:30PM. These cabins are affected by the BB King Jazz Club on decks 2 and 3. The Base guitar and the drums are very loud and the vibration from these will shake your cabin and bathroom. The glasses in our bathroom were dancing and clattering to the vibrations. Place a washcloth under them to protect them. After speaking to Customer service and the person in charge of Housekeeping, we found out that when the ship was in Dry Dock for refurbishing, they neglected to put insulation to prevent this from happening. If you can change your cabin to forward or stern cabins, you will not have this problem. Also, if you go to sleep after 11:30 PM, you will also not be affected by this. Also, we found the entertainment to be terrible with virtually no production shows and a fair comedian. We this was our 92nd cruise and one of our worst. The ship is magnificent and beautiful but this is a serious problem.

As a entrepreneurial family we all work together and this was our 1st family vacation in about 20 years. It was a 1st cruise for half the group. The cruise was nice but maybe for our group size and ages we should've picked a cruise with more activities, entertainment, night life and kids activities. This was not the right cruise line for us. My dad has been on many cruises and was disappointed by the cabins and cruise overall. He paid to upgrade rooms and was very dissatisfied with the rooms for the kind of money he paid.

We did this same cruise last year and had problems. This year it was worse - they just came off dry dock so there were lots of maintenance issues from other guests as well. Did not meet anyone that was pleased with this cruise. Our problems were mainly with staff not handling what issues appropriately, not being able to get our OBC. First day on the ship and was told at breakfast that they were out of egg whites and it was downhill from that point. Ports of call were great. HA has the best private island - unfortunately it was cancelled.

For the money, this cruise is not worth it. Although the itinerary is great, and so is the dining, the rest falls short. Especially the entertainment. On an 11 day cruise, there should have been more shows that dinner wouldn't conflict with.

Koningsdam is the crown jewel of the HAL fleet and is truly outstanding.

Being a newer ship, I was very disappointed in the slow service and lack of organization. As usual Holland does not begin to compare with the other cruise lines for activities. They have a misconception that seniors don't want to do the fun activities that other cruise lines offer. They cater to an old crowd that isn't interested in anything fun. Will not be sailing on Holland for a while.

We had a wonderful time, great ship, beautiful and interesting ports and we were travelling with Family. Truly wonderful

I chose this cruise because of the ports that it went to and for the most part, the ports did not disappoint me. The food and staff were excellent. The string quartet and the pianist who played in Oceans Lounge, as well as the two girls that played piano in the Billboard Onboard (Ivy and Polina) were all superb!! The idea of "Buy one drink, get one for $2" seemed to be a big hit with people. Also, people seemed to enjoy the gameshow participation activities too.

Koningsdam is new and nicely appointed. The artwork in the public spaces was different and very attractive. The rooms felt tight and there was not enough storage room for clothes. Bonaire, Curacao, and Aruba are very nice islands and well worth visiting. The long lines at nearly all the serving station in Lido (the buffet restaurant) made it very unpleasant. Our friends had no AC and the engineers couldn’t repair it.

Would think twice about using this Cruise line again

From start to finish, this cruise was one of a lifetime. Everything went extremely smoothly. The food was spectacular. The ship was state of the art. We took advantage of all excursions and were amazed at every stop. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The entertainment was top shelf.

The ship and crew were outstanding; no issues with comfort, cleanliness, or congeniality. The food was not outstanding. It was adequate and usually well prepared, but not notable. You can pay extra to eat in a specialty dining room (which we did on occasion) but, again, even there, the food was not memorable. The excursions were the problem for us. Often starting at an ungodly hour, they were frequently long, arduous, all-day affairs during which we felt we had seen everything and nothing. And if lunch was included in the excursion, it was invariably a disappointment.

Holland America is very professional but was a huge disat

Overall great trip. Great ship and unique scenic ports of call.

Ports were fabulous. Ship was not well-designed, rooms seem smaller than they are, even higher priced higher up rooms. Food was mediocre. Service was good though sometimes inconsistent.

Wouldn’t want to do another cruise on HollandAmericaLine ship unless it was the only one going to where i wanted to go

Norse Legends & Voyage is one of HAL's better cruises if you enjoy scenery, walking in ports, and lots of daylight.

Having sailed with Holland-America before, we knew the clientele would be older and so we were prepared for the walkers, wheelchairs, and even for the old folk who seem to find disagreement in any and everything. Consequently, it is the professionalism of the Holland-America staff that impresses us to no end. Furthermore, the ship is magnificent, the culinary offerings terrific, and the itinerary superb. Truthfully, if you have a lousy time on this ship it is most likely of your own making.
