This was our fourth Transatlantic crossing and we have been to all the ports on this itinerary but since we love cruising more than the itineraries we were very happy with our cruise. Sea days are most relaxing and enjoyable.
Embarkation

Arrived within 1 hour before sailing because of several delays so were rushed aboard without delay. I would not recommend this doing this late boarding but it went quickly and smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Food was very, very good in the Lido and the main dining room. The Pinnacle was excellent in service and food quality. Pizza was good as were the sandwiches served in the Deli. The Dive In had very good burgers, fries and hot dogs and the new Dutch Cafe (exclusive to the Koningsdam) had some very good food although we were not pleased with the speed of the service.
Onboard Activities

A very good array of things to do with the crossing (sea days). They had guest speakers delivering lectures throughout the day with a wide variety of topics and they draw huge crowds. If you like trivia there are at least 3 or 4 times a day for this pastime. Fitness freaks have plenty of options too.
Entertainment

The showroom on the Koningsdam was new and different and makes for a spectacular venue for the ship's shows. The ship's singers and dancers on board are a fresh and welcome addition to the shows on board. The quality of the evening entertainment is much better than on previous HAL cruises. We enjoyed the BB Kings Blues Club every night on board.

The staff on board the ship is top notch and made for a very smooth trip.
Ship Quality

I love this new ship, and new class of ship. It was a bit larger than others in the fleet and it's layout was much different from the other ships as well but after we became familiar with the design and configuration we loved it. The look and colors used are fresh and bold and a welcome change from the rest of the fleet,
Cabin / Stateroom

Our stateroom was very typical of cruise ships with everything a bit tight and on the small size and being over six feet tall I would prefer more room but everything was new and nice and was most welcome.
