Review summary

The Koningsdam is a technological marvel with the most up to date systems and navigational capabilities with a captain who knows ho to use them.  Congrats Holland, but the on board experience needs some work.  Lots of small details need attention.  The mattresses were too small and made sleeping difficult.  Sound insulation between cabins needs some beefing up and the tendering experience needs some life boat pilots with more experience.

On the other hand, the ship's performing company was outstanding and all but the two comedians who performed made the evenings very worthwhile.  The Lido Market (buffet) was excellent with great attention to service and satisfaction. BB King experience was mediocre and Lincoln Center performers were good but had no Lincoln Center experience (still world class).  Shops on board were typical and much time spent on Holland future cruises and new Privileges program.  Ports are typical Caribbean and focus on Diamonds International highlights the fact that they are owned by Carnival (the parent of Holland).  Good get away for us northerners and once kinks are worked out this may be as good as other Holland ships like the Neuw Amsterdam.  BTW there is no library on this ship so bring your own reading material.

Very small (as expected) but noisy and mattresses too small

Ship tip

Ship is still working out the kinks in the Thermal spa. Use coupons provided in your stateroom to experience it before you spend $200 on a week long pass
