Review summary

The best cruise I've ever been on! Ports were outstanding and the food was excellent.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Lines were long but they kept them moving quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Best food I've had on a cruise ship in a long time. The breads were excellent. The sushi bar was top notch.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I could always find a seat at the pool.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were very entertaining and had a lot of variety with the acts.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
I just can't justify a 5 star rating here because twice in the main dining room my drink charges never seemed to accurately reflect what I ordered but it was only an extra $10 so after being unable to straighten it out at the front desk I just gave up. I think most people were on the drink package so the waitstaff in the dining room weren't too concerned about accuracy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Cleanest public areas on a ship that I've ever been on. Our room steward seemed to have trouble sweeping our carpet so they must have given him a bad sweeper since he tried.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
more storage than we needed, love seat & a desk chair gave us plenty of places to plop down on or leave things laying on

Ship tip

There was always plenty of seating at the buffet. If you didn't want to sit at the back of the ship outside you could sit on the one side outside where they had big comfy chairs. They also had an extra quiet room on the opposite side of the ship across from the entrance to the buffet.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico Did not visit port

just flew in and out on the same days of the cruise

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
Walked to The Boatyard and paid to enjoy the beach all day which came with a snorkel trip where we were able to see a sea turtle, The Boatyard provides free transportation back to the ship and a welcome drink with your chair & umbrella. It was a fantastic bargain!

Port of Spain

5 out of 5
Maracas Waterfall was beautiful but the road is washed out so the hike starts straight uphill on pavement so be prepared. The guides were excellent!

Scarborough, Tobago

5 out of 5
Went to Mt Irvine beach with RCL which was on the pricey side since your chairs & umbrella were extra, however, the beach was lovely but rough (people were surfing). The restaurant food and drinks was excellent & reasonably priced.

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
Boat ride to the Twin Pitons exceeded my expectations. Snorkeled at a black sand beach where I saw a sea urchin.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Easy walk to town where there are plenty of bars, restaurants, shops, and opportunities to rent beach chairs and umbrellas

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Used the self walk off option and I was able to leave about 30 minutes earlier than the time they had provided which gave me plenty of time to make my 10:30 a.m. flight.
