The casino was small and had outdated games. The entertainment was awful. The food was pathetic. There was no entertainment.

It’s hard to imagine anywhere with worse food than what we experienced on the jewel. The food was always overcooked and cold, except for the pizza that was undercooked. The waiter and assistant waiter. Could care less about the main dining room food as he never did anything to make it better. The officer in charge of the solarium café was told numerous times how miserable the pizza was, and yet still did nothing.

Onboard Activities

The cruise offers very few shows and the ones they did offer were canceled. There was a Celine Dion impersonator who was good but not great. On the last night the variety show was at 7:15 which makes no sense when your dinners are 530 and 730.

There were more shows canceled than they had and the times were the most ridiculous you could possibly schedule. There was literally nothing to do on this ship.

We were on the Jewel recently traveling from Quebec to San Juan for 18 days. It was a great ship, with a great crew and fantastic musicians and food. Can't understand this review as our experience certainly means we will gladly travel on the Jewel again!

We were on the Jewel this fall, and the food was fine. The dining room had the best service we have had on Royal recently. Royal is not our favorite cruise line, but the Jewel was fine. I would recommend it over the mega ship.
