Bucket list New England and Canada cruise. We missed the colorful leaves by about 2 weeks. . .so we'll have to go again. Really enjoyed the scenic stops and friendly people on shore, and the lobster, everywhere. Recommend spending at least 2 days in Quebec City because it was our favorite stop, lots to see and enjoy there.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were on board within 15 minutes of pulling up to the curb at the port and exiting our Uber.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We know it is difficult to produce true quality meals for thousands of people, but we also feel that the food selections and taste/quality were better prior to the pandemic pause.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Plenty of things to do on board. The only thing that was tough was walking on deck at times, due to cold and wind.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Shows were ok, one of the highlights was a presentation by their lead singer, Valentina, who put on her own show. We also really enjoyed the acapella group, the Alley Cats. The on board band was great too.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
So impressed by the great, attentive, and friendly service by the staff.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We love the Radiance class ships. Well laid out, and great views of the sea from the central areas.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
No complaints other than noise from cleaning of deck above us around 1am. If this had not been a cold weather cruise, we think the noise above us would have been worse. Plenty of space and a wonderful cabin attendant.
Ship tip
If you are a light sleeper, do not book on Deck 10 anywhere underneath the pool deck.
Bayonne is a good place to see New York City from. We arrived for our cruise a day early, and spend the day before the cruise going to Liberty and Ellis Island from Liberty Park in New Jersey. The lines for the Jersey ferry from each island were much shorter than the ferry back to New York.
Really liked Saguenay. Friendly people, took a helicopter ride to overlook the fjords and the river. Then took a craft tour by bus going to glass blowing shop and cheese factory.
We had never been to Quebec so we elected to do 3 nights there after the cruise. What an great ending to a nice cruise. Quebec is full of great scenery, restaurants and shops. We stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac, right on the boardwalk above Old Quebec City. Took a bus tour to Montmorency Falls and Isle de Orleans. Could have stayed another couple days we enjoyed it so much.
We were in a suite, so had expedited departure, yet it was still 90 minutes from walking off the ship to getting into a cab. In the rain. And the cold. :-)
Sorry you didn’t get the see the leaves turning, the seasons have shifted with climate change. If you get up there again try and check out Montreal and the area north in the laurentian mountains.
