Review summary

We had some frustrations where the booking agent put alcohol packages and “head of the group” status on our teenagers. This resulted in them charging our credit cards in our daughters name and the cards being frozen for fraud alerts. It’s a good ship, the experience was “fine” but we’ve had far better on other cruises.

Embarkation

My teenage daughters are taller than me and one of the boarding staff *took my sons documents from me* and said “mom needs to hang on to these” and gave them to my middle daughter…

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Windjammer is standard and to be expected but the dining room service was bad enough that we requested a new waiter for the first time ever. The food was good and our second server, Dave, was an angel. The first guy seemed very annoyed and the time between courses was ridiculous. I couldn’t even get a refill on water with our first waiter.

Onboard Activities

We did the pools, a sushi class with the kids (amazing) and casino mostly. It was great, everything was clean and the staff was super nice.

Children's Programs

My 10yo son adored Guillerme or “Oogie Boogie” as he was called by the children. We had to pry him away half the time just to get him to go to dinner.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
This was very hit and miss. Some staff were so great. Dave, Ketan and Robson in the main dining room were angels. Alonzo, Errol and Adrian at the pool bar and Carlo in Schooner too! Our room attendant turned our room over like my children would if they were trying to “clean” before going to play with friends.

Ship tip

Book excursions for Jamaica. That’s not a self exploring port unless you are ready for one of the fiercest market gauntlets we’ve ever trekked. No isn’t even an option.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
I did not expect this to be my favorite stop because I’m not necessarily a “sit on the beach and relax” person but it was great. The coaster thrilled the kids. Everything was clean and organized and there were both fun spots with music and splash pads and quieter areas for a break. Food was good and efficient too.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
This is our 4th time here and we always get the water park. We booked a cabana two of those four times because seating can be hard to find and the service is amazing but on this one it was a bit futile as we were the only ship there and seating was not nearly the issue It’s been when another ship joins us.
