Review summary
This is our first cruise with Royal Carribbean and the Jewell. The ship was exceptional in its layout and design. The crew and service was outstanding and very personnal. The food was excellant, rated with the best of any of our prior cruises. For breakfast and lunch, the buffet had great selection and the best we've seen on a cruise. The enclosed solarium pool area was perfect for a October cruise from a northern port. It was one of our favorate spots even just to relax and read. The climbing wall was entertaining to watch. On the needs improvement side: too many smoking areas so we did not frequent the lounges; and the library was way too small.Ports of call
Pros: The ship features and layout, size of stateroom, the solarium pool, the buffet selection and the outstanding service.
Cons: Information announcements were not broadcast to staterooms and too many smoking areas.
