Review summary
We recently sailed on the Jewel of the Seas, the New England/Canada Cruise and it was our first cruise. We really enjoyed the time spent on this cruise. Our friends, who are experienced Royal Caribbean cruisers, travelled with us. This was great because we were able to sit at a table for 4 each evening and they gave us helpful information about cruising. The staff was exellant. We were thoroughly amazed at how smoothly everything went from arrival to departure. Royal Caribbean really has their act together. The only criticism was in the air systems -- the hallways in the cabin areas carried unpleasant odors. Also, we felt that when you are paying for a cocktail, a small snack of nuts or chips should be offered and that usually works out well for the vendor as the snack makes the consumer thirsty and perhaps an additional cocktail would be sold. Also, a night light should be standard in the bathroom areas of the cabins -- many people have to get up during the night and the rooms are very dark, so a simple night light installed in the bathroom would be very helpful to the guests. All-in-all it was a great experience and we will cruise again.Ship experiences
