We loved having extra days at sea on this cruise. We relaxed, watched movies, played cards with friends and explored the ship.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We transferred from airport to ship on a princess bus. It worked out very well.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Some evenings, the meals in the dining room were excellent. Other nights, just okay, not exceptional. The food on the buffet was good but we would have liked more variety.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Lotus pool was our favorite. I also enjoyed the movies shown on the big screen at the main pool.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Loved the ventriloquist!
Children's Programs
All in our party were over age 66!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room steward was excellent as was morning coffee room service waiter. Also had great assistants assisting main servers in the dining rooms.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Common areas were always clean. We liked how the atrium area was surrounded by 3 floors of shops, lounges and cocktail/bars. We also liked that the casino was in a central area and NO SMOKING!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We liked the added space of a mini suite. Well worth the price to upgrade from a regular balcony room.
Ship tip
Learn the layout early on as it took us a few days to remember where things were. Also, the doors from common areas to the deck and into the buffet were very heavy.
We were supposed to arrive in Ft. Lauderdale the day prior to our cruise. Our flight was cancelled and we arrived just in time to board the ship the next day.
We did an excursion that was twice as long as planned. We got off our ship after going through the initial locks and boarded a ferry to continue on to the other locks. This excursion was a Princess trip. We had a long bus ride to the ferry and then waited in canal locks 3/4/5 until a larger freighter could come with us. The Panama government does not permit locks to open until the area is filled and we were too small to be permitted through on our own.We didn't get back to our ship until @ 11pm. BUT... Princess had a buffet set up for us which we really enjoyed. Let others know to take a book, a deck of cards and snacks!
Had a wonderful tour guide. We visited the rain forest, took a river boat ride, saw local culture and sampled good coffee as well as fruit. We enjoyed seeing a banana plantain.
Our snorkeling excursion was cancelled so we were really disappointed. We did go to the beach for a few hours. Drinks were really overpriced and transportation back to the ship from the beach was overcrowded and expensive.
