Review summary

this is the first time I wish we had not taken a Princess Cruise.  you cannot control the weather.  But the weather certainly does not make for a nice May cruise in that area.  Will never take it again.   I was disappointed to learn that we received no credit for this cruise toward our status because it was 6 days.  If you had advised such, we would have found a 7 day cruise instead.  Also, since when does the Caribe  deck balcony not include the foot stool!  Never encountered that before.

Will not sail on your small ships again.  Will stick with the Caribbean Princess size ship and up.

Sorry that you are so bummed. We have been to Glacier Bay twice, once in may and once in August . Our experience was May was beautiful, August was Rain. It doesn't matter ,Alaska is beautiful anytime of year. This time we are going in June.Remember, you can't control the weather but you can control your enjoyment and experience! We made lots of friends from all over. Love cruising!

we went may 2016 and yes there was light rain in one port Ketchikan. we were lucky yes. it IS NORTH, so it's cold so dress warm! it's about beauty in nature up there. the glaciers are outstanding. next time I'd definitely go on the tram at Juneau to see the view from the top. water excursions ie whale watching would be nasty in the cold I bet. depends on the weather.

/I sound like your encounter with Mother Nature's bad weather put you in a grumpy mood. That happens...It's disappointing, especially when you've shelled out that much money. I may be wrong, but I've been told that number of day's sailed counts toward your cruise status. They also use number of sailings. e.g., you could take a few long cruises and it would add up faster then more individual short ones.
