Review summary

Veterans Day sailing was full as to be expected, but the ship is well-designed, and the deck 4 outdoor promenade was always a quiet spot to relax with a book. The musicians and ice skaters were top-notch.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and orderly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining room early seating, enjoyed having the same table and servers each evening. Buffet was too crowded for us; we did not partake. Izumi sushi lunch was fantastic. Playmakers had decent bar food. Bar service everywhere was above average. Room service breakfast was very disappointing.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We are not pool people...pool deck was very crowded. Sports deck activities especially the lowrider were very fun to watch. Open ice-skating was an unusual treat to participate in, run by the skating cast.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The skaters are olympic-level. We attended twice. John Lackey is the best and most engaging piano-bar entertainer. Grease is not ground-breaking but the cast and musicians made it the best it could be.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Crew members were all very sweet and kind. They went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was notably clean and well-kept.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Sofa, carpet, curtains, bathroom, and bedding were all in good condition and clean. Balcony chairs are non-adjustable in a semi-reclined position which is not ideal. Balcony door latch was loose, causing a wind-whistle along with the creaking of the ship, could disturb some people. Pack duct tape!

Ship tip

Tip your room steward extra in cash and tell them to service your cabin whenever works for them. Also, pick a fixed dining time seating; "My time" dining is chaotic.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
The Labadoozie cocktail is very refreshing. The Dragon Tail coaster has the right amount of thrills. The open-air buffet lunch did not look appetizing.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and orderly.

I was on that sailing...pretty well agree with all you said with exception of My Time Dining. We had made reservations ahead of time and even showing up a few minutes early, we were seated promptly and the same servers. The clue is to reserve. Loved Labadee . What a beautiful place!
