Review summary

Royal Caribbean is a supposed to be a step above carnival; however, I feel like you're on a slippery slope. Don't lose your identity over money or trends.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
smooth

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffets are plentiful, however, usually only feature one culture at a time. bring salt and pepper because the food is not seasoned well. 2nd time on this cruise (same ship). Our Nov 2022 had much more flavor.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
need more hot tubs, always crowded. Water shoes should be allowed in pools and such. thats why they're made!

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Ice skating and the trivia rocked! Everything else was a waste of time. the "game show" was not a game show. horrible. walked out in first 5 mins

Service and Staff

4 out of 5

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
carpets need deep clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Needs more outlets. Only has 2 American and 2 European. AC didn't get as cold as we last time.

Ship tip

bring a power strip

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
$91 to park... ridiculous

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
we don't get of the ship in Nassau... the people ruin the port.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
awesome day, but pool bar prices are insane. $20 for 2 beers

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
this is a 5 day 4 night cruise. However, on the 5th day (disembarkation day) they tried to kick us out at 8AM. no breakfast was allowed at windjammer. I get it, people off and people on... be out by 10... thats reasonable and what we did a year ago.

Every cruise I was on with not only Royal but several other lines want you out of the cabin by 8 am on disembarkation day, and breakfast is always available in the MDR or buffet till about 9 am.

Parking is run by the port authorities not Royal Caribbean.

Power strips arent allowed. I even took just a non surge protected multi plug which is supposed to be allowed and they still took it away. Why do you need water shoes for a pool? Its not like there are rocks in it. Most cruises ask you to vacate your cabin by 8am, and breakfast in windjammer is usually til 830 or 9 disembarkation day.
