Though the cruise itself was wonderful and the service in the dining room was amazing the check-in procedure was lacking direction.

Review summary

The cruise itself was wonderful. The dining room staff was amazing. The entertainment was very enjoyable. My only complaint was the process of getting on the ship, to our gathering location and what was needed to get into our rooms or even find them for that matter. Just didn't seem like there were enough staff at keys areas to give you a little direction to fill in the gaps. It seems like Royal Caribbean thinks everyone has been on a lot of cruises.

Embarkation

It seems Royal Caribbean relies too much on people using the App to navigate the check-in process and safety assembly station. Being first time cruise participants I feel like there could have been a few more people stationed at key areas to provide information to fill in where we didn't understand what the App was directing us to do. The people taking our bags outside the gate were not very friendly or helpful.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Drinks for purchase are very expensive and so are the drink packages. If one person isn't an alcohol drinker both should not need to get a drink package.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools get very crowded at times. I wish the adult only pool would have been bigger.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were excellent and very entertaining.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
June and Kenneth in the dining hall were amazing and extremely attentive. We had requested them for all three evening dinners and they impressed us the entire time with their service.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The layout of the ship was easy to understand and navigate. The common areas were clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Not sure why we paid the same amount as another couple in our group and had a smaller window and only a chair to sit on instead of a couch. Bed was comfortable. The room itself could have been cleaner. There was some areas that could have been cleaner. We experienced a leak in our bathroom but luckily it was during the morning of our departure so it didn't effect us much as we threw a towel on it until we left the room.

Ship tip

Read over as much of the on-boarding procedures as possible. I didn't feel there were enough staff members stationed around the ship to help answer questions when checking in on the ship.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Easy to understand where we needed to go to drop off our rental car and get the shuttle to the boat.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Very nice location to visit and enjoy the beach.

Nassau, Bahamas

Very tourist driven area. Lots of people bugging you to drive you around the island when you just want to stroll around and explore by yourself.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Way easier than when we arrived.
