Review summary

It's always delightful to cruise in general and RCCL still offers the best entertainment one could ask for on board. Their talent is stellar. I would lke to try an 'elevated cruise experience' on their sister line, Celebrity, one of these days! My dream cruise is a Transatlantic Repositioning cruise of 12+ days originating in Europe and returning to Florida. The new Brightline will make cruising out of Port Everglades and Miami very easy in the not too distant future as well!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had loyalty in the Crown & Anchor Society with boarding at 10:30am and it allowed us to really enjoy the ship on embarkation day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The MDR is always in need of some help. With reverting to the original dining plan from decades in the past, they were able to excel at some items on the themed menu, while others were still lacking in flavor and preparation. I always like this to 'wedding venue' food as sometimes it's spot on and sometimes the temperature is lacking along with flavor in seasoning.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There's always a plethora of activities to choose from allowing you to be as chill or active as you'd like. One of my favorites is to sit and watch those on the flow rider...while too old to venture out on a boogie board, it's always fun to watch!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
RCCL is most noted for its entertainment. They brought back the Crazy Quest, and we're STILL laughing about it. On our 2/27 cruise, there was no ice show, and very disappointing. I asked our Cruise Director, Katie, why no show. She said their survey feedback, primarily families with children, wanted more free skate time, precluding the show from running. That said, the entire precision skating team was on board, and I put this in my post-cruise survey is being something they need to continue to provide in the entertainment line-up.

Children's Programs

Didn't travel with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The heart of this line has long been those serving passengers forward facing as well as behind the scenes. Our room steward was exceptional, along with our waitstaff. Make sure you recognize those people who go above and beyond on your post-cruise survey, as it makes a difference in both remunerations and promotional opportunities.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Post-cruise, I heard rumblings about MDR lighting flickering and some issues with room commodes. We experienced neither on this cruise. Some were surprised as the ship had just come out of dry dock only a couple of weeks before so some of the bugs still needed a shake-down.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had the bed split into two and they were comfy. I will say the linens are very rough, however. Plenty of space and with our 'cruise gear', i.e. magnets, hamper, etc., we kept our cabin tidy and likely a pleasant surprise to our room steward.

Ship tip

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Nassau isn't particularly pleasant, but we did enjoy going up 'handbag row' as I've come to call it! My friend scored some lovely Christmas gifts!

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas Did not visit port

We opted to sleep in and enjoy the quiet of the ship while everyone was at the private island...and it was a good choice! Very relaxing and everything was readily accessible.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was quick and seamless. The lines for those traveling with birth certificates as long and tedious from what we observed. Facial recognition on those traveling with passports moved swiftly and we were off in a total of about ten minutes and through customs.

Traveler Photos

NCL does such a lovely job of painting their livery! Love Disney Cruise Lines ship theming! This church was about a block over from the Straw Market and was worth a quick peak inside! Such lovely stained glass in the church altar window. I always love seeing other ships in any port up close! The church courtyard. A little surprise awaiting us in our cabin with thanks for loyalty! A lovely old church with gorgeous architecture. Port Everglades Day of Departure
