Our vacation well deserved but this cruise did not meet my expectations based on what I know cruises to be from past experiences.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Quick and efficient
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Dining rooms were nice and the service was very good. The specialty restaurants are too expensive so we were unable to enjoy them. Unfortunately, the drinks were very bad! 4 of the beverages I ordered tasted as if there was no alcohol in them yet I was forced to pay $14 for each. 2 other types of drinks that were meant to be sweet, tropical beverages were so bitter that I was unable to drink them… again I was forced to pay $14 for each of them. I would have spent a lot of money on drinks but I could not stomach them so I saved some money. As for buffets, they were good, we’ll stocked and the service was excellent but they closed much earlier than in the past. By 9pm the buffet was closed! What happened to the midnight buffets of the past? Icecream was available on the pool deck from 11:30am-6:30pm… that was once available until the wee hours of the morning! I will not cruise again until these cruise lines go back to their old ways with regards to food.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pool/hot tub, ice skating, mini golf. All met my standards
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Saw only 1 show. It was an ice skating “snap shot in time” and was very well done
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Good service and all staff did what they were supposed to do but none went above and beyond to make guests feel pampered. The fact that the tips are automatically included does not give staff the incentive to go the extra mile to earn their tips.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Excellent
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
As expected
Ship tip
Don’t sail until cruising goes back to normal. My family had better experiences on other cruise lines. I will not cruise with Royal Caribbean again.
It took 2 hours to get through a line and off the ship! Not acceptable since there were scheduled times for different groups to disembark. My family got separated for 1 1/2 hours of this time and when we were finally reunited at customs, there were only 2 agents checking birth certificates for a giant line of passengers compared to the 5 agents that quickly took a picture of each passenger that had a passport. This was by far the worst part of my family’s entire trip and has left a bad taste in my mouth for the whole cruise experience!
The short caribbean cruises are becoming a combo of booze cruise and kiddy cruise which is an odd mix. They also have a feeling of being over crowded.
We did this cruise in May and did not get the relaxing fun vibe like we have in the past.
The longer non caribbean cruises have a better experience, I think.
Unfortunately the ship has nothing to do with the shoreside debarkation activities, that is controlled by our Federal Government in conjunction with the local port authorities. The ship is responsible only for letting people off the ship in numbers dictated by the port authorities and possibly the immigration people. Too bad the poster probably will not see the comments since their post looks like a one way crosspost from the booking company.
