Could use some work, but overall, a fair value for a trip to the Bahamas

Review summary

Lessons learned for next time. Overall value of the cruise is good if you go in knowing that your WiFi may not reach into your room, your bed is going to be hard enough to make you not sleep well, and to avoid the extremely expensive drink package (over $300 per person) that you likely can't break even on with all your time off the boat on one of the days.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

This was perhaps my biggest disappointment. The food was tasteless (though sauces were good) and the seafood was usually overcooked (dry/chewy). Food and drinks ran out (no ice cream for the last 24 hours, no fruit punch for the daughter in the last day, snacks/desserts were very limited by the end).

Onboard Activities

The pool area was great, but limited in that it was closed at random times which my daughter would have enjoyed it.

Service and Staff

Literally everyone was amazing. Food service, room service, guest services, etc. They were all pleasant to talk to, helpful when needed, and available everywhere. My single complaint was when we reached the island. They were given misinformation and telling guests to get towels on the island rather than the boat when that was not the case (guests needed to bring their own towels before leaving the boat).

Cabin / Stateroom

My daughter loved the drop down bunk beds. Our biggest issue here was comfort of the beds. They were rather hard making for sleepless nights. In addition, the Wifi did not reach into our room well. We struggled to get any signal in our room, making the Vroom wireless package nearly worthless to us.

Ship tip

Don't get the full drink package as it's likely not worth the $300+ per person for 4 nights as one of those days/nights you are likely off the island for almost the whole day. We really struggled (and failed) to get our money's worth. Also, the "Vroom" internet package is slow as it can be. There is nothing Vroomy about it. And it doesn't reach down into deck 3 where we were staying.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

We lost an hour of time due to the miscommunication of towels. Staff told us we could get towels from the towel station on the island. A long walk later, we were told by the towel station that towels were not for guests except in the changing room. My wife and daughter were freezing cold at this point. I had to go all the way back to the ship, up to deck 11, in order to get them towels to dry off and warm up. Needless to say, I was VERY unhappy about that whole situation.

Similar experience here. We did an excursion to Atlantis, and the communication from the shore excursion group failed to the point where we again lost an entire hour of our limited time out there. The leader of the excursion group lost some of us due to not communicating. Very frustrating.
