Review summary

Taking time off work is sometimes not worth it, taking time off for a cruise is always worth it.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Apart from having to wear a mask in line and in the terminal, the embarkation was good. It seems to be fluid as to if you get a vax-band, if the “health” data is confirmed once, twice, or three times and whether there is a “counter” to go to or not as Covid weens off as being a factor. That was encouraging to see some back-to-normal familiar processes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR was “o.k.” Fish and chips ($) was great, and Johnny Rockets ($) was great also. Food on Coco Cay (Snack Shack) was awesome. The windjammer is still hit or miss. If they ever get the correct number of attendants to guest ratio figured out the “crew-served” model will work better. There were at least 3200 guests on board (that’s what we were told) and some of the stations suffered from a seeming shortage of staff. In reality it only was a small delay but you know how freaked out we get when it comes to food 🤣

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pool deck was crowded, pre-2020 crowded. Which, was nice in a way but the number of lounge chairs and space is just packed on a sea day. The slide was cool and watching folks have fun on the Flowrider was fun.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The broadway show “Grease” was inconspicuously absent from this sailing and when asked, there was no reason given. We are all big boys and girls, just tell us that Rizzo has Covid or whatever, don’t hide crap from us. The ice show “Freeze Frame” was good.

Children's Programs

No kids on board

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Standard excellent service from a grateful staff.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Even though she is a tad aged, she was clean and for the most part in working order.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Comfortable bed, adequate room in the bathroom and balcony was adequate also. This is a “connected” room (we did not have two staterooms) and would be good for a family with kids (to have both rooms connected).

Ship tip

Go to the helicopter pad deck on the sea day and enjoy a large space darn near to yourself.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
Embarkation and parking. Not really an excursion but we did park at the pier. Super easy and 15 minutes from our cabin to driving on debarkation day.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
South beach is my favorite (free) area of Coco Cay. The food is awesome at the Snack Shack. We really like the swim-up bar in Oasis lagoon also. In February the water is a tad chilly but relaxing in the sun.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Stayed on board the ship and had a great day on the pool deck.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick (15 minutes) from our stateroom to sitting in my car driving away from the pier. I highly recommend parking at the pier.
