Review summary

We have sailed ROyal Caribbean a number of times and it’s always been above satisfactory. We selected this cruise as a way to celebrate Christmas with our family onboard. 1. The ship offered some nice decorations but lacked any holiday events. We expected caroling and seeing Santa and maybe a Christmas show. We saw none of these. 2. So often nowadays businesses eliminate things and blame it on Covid. This was quite obvious on this cruise. Primarily in the area of entertainment. A comedian one night a singer the next and on the final night the singer and comedian. I like to listen to music after dinner and it was a piano player in the Schooner lounge and I’m told Bolero had some music at some point. We never heard the ships orchestra perform other than during the shows. Overall the experience was at best ok. We want to try a Christmas cruise again in 2022 but will have to think hard about doing it on Royal.

Ship tip

Nice ship but poor choices of entertainment venues. I’m sure they blame Covid but that excuse is getting old.

The entertainment was not at their normal standards! All due to this Covid thing, which is getting annoying. If it wasn’t for the good weather to be pool side all day there wasn’t anything else to do ! Only got to see one show. I hope Anthem is better for my February cruise.

You really need to read and watch videos before you decide to cruise during this time... These things would NOT be a surprise.

If your a frequent cruiser as you say. Then you should know how much of an impact and strain these rediculas covid protocols have had on the cruiselines. We are very lucky that the cruiselines survived the lockdowns at all.... and now they have to dig ouy of the tens of billions of dollar hole The govt made them assume. The cruiselines are doing the best they can with the idiocy they have to follow. Go ANYWHERE and you will see the same limitations... doesnt matter if its Disney, Universal other major theme parks, major resorts, and anyplace people gather in large groups. The cruise industry is just unfairly singled out for ultra restrictive policies the CDC has strangled them with. If you dont like it? Vote for people who will lead with common sense vs hysteria. If you are not happy cruising right now? Dont cruise.

Sorry about your entertainment experience however, cruise lines have cut back due to protocols. Thanks for sharing all the positives as well.
