Review summary

This is our first time on Royal Caribbean. We have always traveled with Carnival before. We enjoyed the ship activities the fact that they had a drink card that was reasonably priced and comedy shows. Our only issues with the ship was that our room had a small porthole not a large ocean view window. We were also unhappy with the fact that there were less dinner options in the dining room and a lot of the food was not seasoned very well and this included the desserts. Nobody likes bland desserts. We also wish that the Flowrider was open for more than 4 hours every day. There needed to be more open availability for that. Other than that the trip was awesome the staff was amazing the drinks were made to Perfection and the ports were fun. Will definitely be trying Royal Caribbean again and maybe this time we'll try one of the bigger ships :)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Drinks were great. Food was mediocre (not enough options, not seasoned enough, not always cooked to order, desserts looked pretty but were bland... Again not seasoned correctly)

Onboard Activities

Go to the Dog & Badger. They made the best mixed drinks on the ship.

Entertainment

My husband had an awesome time. He just wished that there were more open hours daily.

Service and Staff

We were in the King Lear dining room 6 p.m. dine in time and had the pleasure of having Maureen as our head server and Yul as our second server. They did amazing!! We were 2 tables with 18 people. So proud to them!!

Ship Quality

Beautiful ship. Love the decor. Always clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

The State Room has a small porthole not one of the big window sized ones so if you book this room just a heads up on that.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Quick embarking and disembarking on last day.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
We took a little golf cart dune buggy type things and rode up and down the beach visited a close Little Town shopping center on the beach. It was nice lots of Street vendors lots of options to bargain for prices.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Cozumel was much more overpriced than Costa Maya inside the port. If you wanted to do something like Senor Frog's it's no longer at Port as they are renovating the entire building so now there's a Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville and it's 15 bucks for one drink. However the shops directly outside of the port about a 1-mile taxi ride away called valu-mart or something like that you can get a liter of Bacardi rum for $5, and souvenirs that are 1 to $5

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We got off the ship at 7:45 a.m. and we're out of Customs by 8:15 a.m.. we were out of the Fort Lauderdale area on the road with our car by 8:40.
