Review summary

This was our first cruise, we loved it until we tried to get off the boat back at port.  It was the most unorganized and frustrating experience.  If they can't handle getting people off the boat in an orderly organized fashion in port I wonder how they could possibly handle an emergency... No communication and no one on the crew seemed to know what was going on....

We had issues disembarking the sailing before yours on Independence.  We were TWO HOURS past our expected time of 9:30.  I had blamed it on the spring breakers pushing the self carry time but maybe the staff was not as effective getting the people off.  We just got off Freedom and they were ahead of schedule (as was the case with the other Royal ships we have disembarked from).

It only took us about 45 minutes to get off the boat. I thought it was pretty easy.

This is frustrating, but US customs controls debarcation. Usually takes 3 hours after lines are secured
