Review summary

This was my husband and I for screws this is the second time we sailed with Royal Caribbean. Customer service was great. We didn't really enjoy the food at all we didn't like the fact that they didn't have a laundry facility so we couldn't do our own laundry. We ate and one of the specialty restaurants. We were very disappointed. We were with a group of 8. The manager George invited us back make it right and he did an excellent job. I'm pretty sure that will never sail Royal Caribbean again I think Royal Caribbean have the better ships, but overall I think we like carnival better.

Ship tip

I wasn't able to find any good food on the ship and I didn't like that you weren't able to make your own drinks on the Lido deck

denb I was on Indy first week of Nov and I found the food to be subpar also and that was my 8th cruise with RC. I was very disappointed.

denb, to your comparison. I have taken my family both to the Caribbean and Mediterranean with the same cruise liners. Princess and Royal Caribbean, overall I found the food quality, especially the fruits, the departures from the US are far superior than the Southampton departure for European sector.

I will try Carnival Glory next. I do look forward to Sept!!

Your right, Carnival is not better than RCCL...but it is equal! We have sailed both and haven't really found much difference!!! I agree with waverider45, you have good cruises and less than good. It's what you decide and ours is Princess.

I wonder if anyone has compared the food offered to US customers sailing from US ports with that offered to UK customers sailing from Southampton?

After 12 cruises you'll find each cruise line has its ups an downs, it's up to you to decide which one you like best, our choice is RCI

I think better depends on what you're looking for in a cruise.

Yeah....Carnival is definitely NOT better than Royal.

the last time we sailed independence the food was poor. mainly pasta. we are back on the indy in 2016 so I hope they have improved. not the food quality we used to get some years ago. Some management idiot thinks we don't notice.

I think they mean fourth cruise and second time on royal Caribbean
