Review summary

We had two couples ages 51 to 60 on board. It was our fourth cruise with RCCL and the first for our friends. We really enjoyed a prompt service on the ship, excellent entertainment with a great cruise director Joff Eaton and of course, food. It was great to enjoy a selection of sushi at the dinner buffet. The appetizers and desserts were delicious but the dinners at times were disappointing. The meats tasted like processed meats, hot soups were tasteless . However, the lobster was really good and also lamb shank. The presentation was awesome and portion sizes good also. Also,we couldn't change our late seating to any time dining . I suggest to make that decision before you get on board. It has to do with distributions of the tips and impossible to change later on board. We enjoyed our ports of call independently and have not used their shore excursions. It was fun to have a barbecue in Labadee on a private island. The weather was nice and pleasant but a little windy in the afternoon so we didn't have a deck party. Our major disappointment was on an embarcation day when we walked into our interior cabin that smelled like a sewer . That issue was resolved since a cabin stewart dealt with it before and told us that the cover was not tight on over the pipes. It was strange that it had occured before and yet they let passengers in and with a bad impression trying to resolve it later. It was not fun to start your trip with a horrible odor. The ship didn't feel too crowded except for a few shows that were only offered once and it was a challenge to find available seats especially together. But that was no big deal for us either. Overall, we loved our cruise and Royal Caribbean in general.
