We loved the ICON but probably will not travel on this class again. It was very overcrowded and food/drink quality was lacking. The main dining room food was very disappointing. The cabins, elevators and entertainment were top notch. The deck 7 area for my grandchildren was way too small and should be revamped and monitored more as there were adults in the kids pool! Offer better explanation of restaurants and beverages for packages. I was unable to get gourmet coffee's until the very end of my trip as I couldn't find out where they were (I even asked at guest services and they told me basic info). Maybe I could get a credit for this? Also, in the windjammer you should be paired with wait staff as I was also unable to get fresh squeezed orange juice (also on my package) Or specialty coffees delivered to my table. Nobody ever helped us in the windjammer. Way too crowded and coffee was not good and Tasted burnt. Gemma and her crew 10/10!

Food and Dining

The main dining room dinners were the worst we have every had on a Royal Caribbean cruise. The appetizers were excellent but the main course and the dessert were very disappointing as they were either cold or overcooked and the quality was very bad. Armand in the Italian restaurant went above and beyond to keep us happy. Highly suggest speciality dining as this is the way Royal used to serve in the main dining room. It is sad we had to pay out more money with this cruise as I feel we paid a lot.
Onboard Activities

Pools were WAY too crowded and people were reserving chairs and nobody did anything about it. Way too many people for those pools. Fitness center was also very crowded.
Entertainment

All of the trivia's and name that tunes were awesome. We especially loved the Ice Show and the juggling show. Wizard of Oz was just ok. Aqua show was phenomenal. Dueling piano's was fabulous as was the comedians. DJ's were great and so was the reggae band on the pool deck.
Children's Programs
My grandchildren will be reviewed by my daughter who sailed with me.
Service and Staff

Jami our room steward was great. He went above and beyond for us. Arry in the dining room was the absolute best and helped entertain our grandkids. Gemma was the best cruise director on any ship I have been on. Armand in the Italian restaurant went above and beyond for us and explained menu items so nicely!
Ship Quality

Ship was pristine clean except for the Promenade where the chairs were stained and somewhat dirty but some of the people on this ship were slobs and did not clean up after themselves or their children.
Cabin / Stateroom

Very cozy roomy cabin. So clean upon arrival and Jami kept it that way all week. Glad I read tips and tricks on Icon as the hot water was not hot until I pushed the black button and the AC was cool all day as we kept it on Morning mode.
Beautiful port and friendly people. We did a private tour with Daniel Johnson to see the Monkey and Sloths with a beach break. It was ok. Beach was rocky.
Good port. Just that the taxi drivers charge exorbitant amounts of cash for just a few mile ride down to Playa Mia. $40! Booked Playa Mia off the ship. $40 pp kids free not all inclusive just use of resort. Clean nice resort.
LOVED this port. Wish we could have stayed there the entire week! No excursion just enjoyed South Beach and the pools. Food choices at South beach just ok.
We asked at customer service if we could have an earlier disembark time so we could catch our cab at 830am. The agent told us we should leave by 730. We were off the ship in 20 minutes! Wish we would have known disembark would be this easy as the children had a rough time waiting for our driver for 45 minutes
Appreciate your comments. It is the biggest cruise ship in the world. Sorry you had problems getting your coffee. I would be upset about that! That is usually the highlight of my cruise, the daily caramel latte with oat milk. Sounds like you need a study guide for sailing on this ginormous sailing ship. Thanks!
Sorry your experience was not to your satisfaction. We were on this same cruise. Although there were about 6800 passengers on this voyage, we felt that with all of the different neighborhoods, it never felt crowded to us because of the traffic patterns for the passengers. Exceptions to this were the balloon drop, the Windjammer depending upon the time, and after the main entertainment productions ended. With 7 pools available, there were always areas to choose that didn't feel crowded to us, and had lounge chairs and room to utilize the pools. I did do research ahead of time and knew Pearl Cafe had specialty coffees available 24/7. I realize that each person has their own opinion, so accept that we each had our own unique experience.
I would not advise to ever book early times for transportation or flights on disembark day. Flights should be booked after 12pm and transportation, we'll majority of the time cabs and the transportation services have the time schedule of the cruise lines in order to make a smooth pickup with little wait times. 💁🏽♀️MVMO
