When we booked this cruise, we knew the Holiday was an older ship, but we thought that Carnival would have kept the boat updated. Unfortunately, this boat is just old and in its original condition.

Food was average for a cruise. Limited to buffett, pizza, and main dining rooms. There are no specialty options on the Holiday.

Cruise director and entertainers were great. There was always something going on.
Service and Staff

The staff on the Holiday is the best. They are very friendly and courteous, and they are very attentive to the guests. Our room had a plumbing problem, and everyone from our room steward to guest services were the best at making sure we were not inconvenienced by the problem.
Ship Quality

This ship is old. We knew the ship was an older ship when we booked, but we thought it would have been kept up to date as part of the Carnival Cruise line. Unfortunately, I don't think much has been updated since the ship was built. Everything was nice and clean, but very old.
Cabin / Stateroom

At the last minute Carnival updated us to a suite with a balcony. It was wonderful, but once again old.
Took a cheap 10 minute cab ride to Playa del Carmen where we shopped and had lunch at the Blue Parrot, which is on the beach. Lunch was great and the Blue Parrot also rents beach chairs and umbrellas, so we spent the afternoon at their wonderful beach.
