This was a great family cruise celebrating my son's High School Graduation. We were a group of 18 and we had a blast. It was a fun and exhausting week. We have done this several times can't wait to do it again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was great, getting to the terminal was a little hectic but over all it was smooth.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I have been on several Royal Caribbean cruises and the food this trip was average. The food was good in the main dining room but was lacking flavor. The buffets were limited around the ship, need more food areas for ships so large. You have to search for it as in the past you almost fell over it every other step. The windjammer I never made it too because the lines were always so LONG. We opted for Park Cafe and Solarium. My son ate at Johnny Rockets but was not worth the extra price. In the past the Mexican Restaurant was free and was such a great option for lunch, instead of having to go to Wind Jammer. I feel a lot of nickel and dimeing going on. Chops was amazing and the food great as always, was glad to see that didn't change. Overall in comparison to other Royal cruises me and my family have done the food was average. Not having food available 24 hours is not cool, especially on such a large cruise ship like the Harmony.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
I really didn't do any activities, they were either sold out, cancelled or not accessible, especially to people who choose to get off the ship.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The two comedians were great, I loved their shows. I was unable to reserve any they were all sold out.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
I did not use this
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our waiters and room stewards were amazing and very helpful.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is beautiful, the only part I was not thrilled about despite spending a lot of time there is the solarium. No pool or water access on such a hot part of the ship. There were times that there was no air movement and there are lots of hot tubs but no place to cool off. A nice cool plunge pool would be nice maybe some water features. Also serving charcuterie style snacks in this area since it is an adult only area would be nice.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable and clean.
Ship tip
Harmony is great and large, so map out your plans before you get on ship to maximize your options.
I suggest don't book this till you arrive because if weather is bad and you already purchased you don't get a refund. We paid for an entire day and only got to access the park for two hours.
This is a very tourist stop. I did an excursion thru Viator it was fun but allow yourself time to get off the ship and get to your pick up spot. We did a Jeep tour and it was good but we reserved two jeeps and only got one, which worked out. You can easily take a taxi from the port to the beaches and by pass some of this. Any beach works and the food and drinks are good.
I really liked this stop, had a lot to do without having to leave the port. They have swimming with Dolphins and bird aviary right there and a large pool and lots of eateries. If you decide to leave the port you can find a lot to do right at the port just be patient because there are a lot of people. We did an ATV excursion and had fun but it did not take us thru the jungle like we were promised and most of it was rushed due to poor planning and late arrivals. Do excursions early so you have time to chill before having to get back on the boat.
This was a great stop but WAY TOO SHORT, especially with the time difference. We did a Viator Horse back riding and zip lining excursion but it was super rushed. Best thing is too just go to the beach or just book thru Royal but for what you get I think it is pricey.
Disembarkation was great but getting out of the terminal, once you get out of customs it is mayhem. Getting to your car looked horrible, getting an uber/lyft was a nightmare and if you have someone pick you up just be patient because it takes for ever. Access to Terminal A is limited and very time consuming.
