Review summary

It has been on my bucket list to cruise on one of the largest ships. OK, we have done it. Harmony was an amazing experience, but seemed a little off in several ways. Access to Windjammer was choked by tiny handwash areas. Lines for main dining and shows were very long. We skipped some things we would usually enjoy. Our stateroom was a long walk from elevators, but we did have a fairly short walk out the back way, down a stair to the aquatheater area.

Embarkation

Walked right on the ship as soon as the Uber ride dropped us off!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We usually eat in the main dining room the first night to meet some people and just experience the main dining room service. Alas, we had to give it a pass this time. The lines were just too long even though we had a reservation. Windjammer service was great but I was disappointed by the self serve pasta sauce choices/availability.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was plenty to do. The ping pong tables are enclosed on this ship, so wind isn't an issue for players.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Book reservations using the app well before your cruise or you will not get a reservation. Shows open to everyone about 15 minutes before show time. A reservation allows access to find a seat 30 minutes before. We thoroughly enjoyed Columbus, but that was the only show we managed to get a reservation for and lines were just too long without a reservation.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always first class service on every RC ship. We were very pleased with everyone we dealt with.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The designers completely blew it with the entrance to Windjammer. They only provided room for 4 people to wash hands on each side! Smaller ships have far more capacity. Staterooms in the stern wings can be a very long walk from the elevators and many levels only have access to elevators on the same side of the ship. It was a bit annoying to go up the elevator only to find we were on the wrong side of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The stateroom was clean, had plenty of space, and the attendant was great.

Ship tip

The best way to enjoy this ship is to sleep in and have a late breakfast on port days, then go enjoy the sports deck, pool or whatever with no crowd. The best time to go ashore is around mid-day.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Convenient to airport, just a few minutes away. We did not do any excursions.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We always enjoy Nassau. The pirate museum is worth the walk up the hill from the shops on the main drag. We took the ferry to Paradise Island this time. That can be a long wait, timing is everything. The marina and shops near Atlantis are clean and have good photo opportunities. The casino at Atlantis had a large part of the area under construction.

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
This was a first for us. Lots of tourist shops. We just did a self-guided tour of the area near the ships.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
This is a private RC resort area with plenty of scenic trails and photo spots. Lunch venues are basically the same as Windjammer. Most excursions are too expensive for us.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Absolutely no problem walking off the ship, but getting a shuttle or Uber ride was a long walk and a long wait.

Traveler Photos

Clean and plenty of storage drawers, shelves, and hangers. Nice view from one trail
