Review summary

Because we were with family and friends, this was a great trip! We love Royal but we were disappointed in their lack of recognition for diamond. Overbooking the ship was definitely evident in the Windjammer and trying for elevators. Also on pool decks. I have cruised 65 times and have plenty of experience to recognize declining service, sure hope this isn’t the trend. Loyalty is because it’s deserved.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth and fast. No special line for diamond members, only suites.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Our service was horrendous the first four nights and was finally straightened out after that.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The Harmony had a huge variety of activities on deck!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Grease production was awesome. Columbus was silly, not funny, and a waste of time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
After 4 very bad days in the MDR, our wait staff became acceptable. Our room steward was excellent!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Harmony appeared to be well maintained and always was clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Due to our own changes, we ended up with four adults in this cabin. Because we are all family, we did fine but would not recommend this as a quad. The location could be considered fun, looking out at Boardwalk and the aqua show and even a fair ocean view, but we would not chose this cabin again. It is great for people watching, but we prefer ocean view. Also the temperature of our cabin was always too warm at night, even with the fan borrowed from the ship.

Ship tip

The Oasis is my favorite ship and Harmony just seems to lack something. And it was definitely overbooked, making elevators and the Windjammer impossible most of the time.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

We stayed at Embassy Suites the night before the cruise. It was dated but nice. Be careful what you book because the hotels are older and may not be great.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Unbelievably fast and smooth! Debarkation time was 7:40 and we were in our car by 7:55! That was with our luggage set out the night before and retrieved with no trouble and transported by a fantastic Porter! We had straps on our bags and could immediately recognize them!
