Although the ship design, activities, food, and itineraries have been planned exceptionally well, a small number of staff members appear to have no regard for the passengers. Their actions not only threaten to damage passengers' vacation experience and safely, but may also end up seriously hurting the image of Royal Caribbean Corp. I have been a loyal fan of Royal Caribbean since the year 2000 while in college, when I worked for the port agent Levante Mar who serviced Royal Caribbean in Turkey. I remember the staffs of ships such as Spendour of the Seas, and Grandeur of the Seas who were so professional. This had made me admire the company. Regretfully this standard appears to have diminished throughout the years.
Although me and my family were considering booking a second cruise in October, this past vacation experience will likely result in us changing our plans. The stress we felt as a result of the actions of certain crew members and port security officers have hurt our experience. I do not believe we can look forward to repeating the same.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Check-in and embarkation process was very swift and painless. I was impressed by how efficiently the staff worked to follow the well-planned operation.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food at the Wind Jammer was excellent. Me and my family liked it so much that we dined there for breakfast and dinner. The food at buffets were also very high quality. I was also happy to not have to wait in line too long to be able to get something to eat.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
My 5 year-old son spent 1 to 2 ours each day at the Adventure Ocean which he loved. The staff watching over the children were very professional. He also enjoyed the pools and slides. My wife and I also enjoyed the pools and Zipline.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The performances and parties compared to what we had experienced on the Oasis on the Seas in 2013 were quite mediocre. The experience made us miss cruise director Ricky Mathews who had made our experience on the Oasis seem like an ongoing party which had lasted for a week. The experience on the Harmony seemed much more slow, quiet, and dull. We almost rarely saw the cruise director did interact very much with the passengers.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My son wanted to go to Adventure Ocean each night. The staff appeared to be very passionate about their work and kept putting together activities he found to be very fun and inclusive.
Service and Staff

While having breakfast one morning, Wind Jammer head waiter Tyrone decided to play a prank on me where he acted like he was dropping a hot tea kettle in my lap. I jumped back and almost hit my son who was eating muesli out of cup made of thin glass. If I had hit my son, this could have caused severe cuts to my son's face and eyes. When I complained to Tyrone that his joke had put my son in danger, Tyrone just turned his back and continued to do the same prank on other passengers as he walked through the tables. I kept hearing screaming passengers until he reached the end of the restaurant. I later complained about the incident to guest services who raised the issue to Wind Jammer manager Rudi. Rudi apologized to me the next day explaining that Tyrone had tried to have fun on the job by pranking the passengers that morning. However, he had later warned him to only make jokes to entertain the passengers, and not just himself going forward. Seeing how disturbed I was with the incident, Rudi raised the issue to Maitre D' Ahmet Sezgun who also showed up to personally apologize and promise that he would take actions to make sure the waiters would not act in ways to endanger the safety of the passengers. He also agreed that Tyrone should not be trying to entertain himself by playing such pranks on the passengers. Although I appreciated the apologies and promises, I still felt very disrespected by Tyrone who had somehow felt entitled to mistreat passengers for his own entertainment. I should not have had to go through that stress on a vacation I had waited so long for. This was a major disappointment for me. During the next days, Tyrone never apologized. Instead he started giving me angry looks each time we made eye contact at the restaurant.
There was an additional experience which also hurt our experience. While walking between the staterooms toward the aft section of the 12th deck, one of the room attendants scolded me and my wife asking what we were doing in that area. When we explained that we were looking for a balcony that oversaw the Aquatheater, he spoke as is he was ordering us away from the area to another floor. His tone was very rude and angry. I do not believe we did anything wrong as we were in a public area of the ship.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship's layout was beautifully designed and maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

Size and cleanliness was perfect. The cabin attendant's service and attitude was excellent.
Ship tip
The ship is beautiful. However, the ship's staff is unprofessional and rude.
On my walk to the straw market, I saw a cab driver chasing two passengers shouting that he was going to seriously hurt them. Shop keepers rushed out to restrain him. I later understood that one of the passengers had spilled a drink on his windshield by accident. This incident made me feel unsafe on the island.
At the port of Falmouth, I was very disappointed to see how rudely Jamaican port security officers treated the passengers. I witnessed their chief officer who was a stalky woman very aggressively yank a bag from a passenger's hand and angrily toss it into the trash bin while yelling that passengers were not allowed to bring food back to the ship. The poor passenger seemed shocked and terrified by the incident. I believe she will keep this as a bad memory.
Thanks for the review, I was in the wind jammer on the 6th night for some dinner when the same guy would go to the windows and cream “Dolphin!!!!” And would keep repeating it until he would reveal a dolphin stuffed animal. This was slightly amusing but mostly unprofessional because there were many people rushing over to each window to see the dolphins which I was near.
