We had a great time on this cruise. It was our first time on an Oasis class ship. It was at about 40% capacity which was really nice. Not sure we would want to do Oasis class at full capacity. Overall, the food was very good. Plenty of entertainment options. We enjoyed listening to live music in Central Park in the evening.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had done all that we could online which made embarkation very quick and easy. Stood waiting at the scanners in the terminal for about 5 minutes because they said that the upstairs had become too crowded so they needed to wait until more people boarded the ship from up there. But other than that, we just breezed through and into the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The Main dining room dinner food was above our expectations. Other than the first night, every meal was flavorful. Food was fresh and served hot. Our server Nenites was sweet and took very good care of us.
The buffet was good. Ate most breakfasts there and one dinner. They had a variety of choices. Some of the crew serving were not overly friendly but the crew that was walking around getting drinks (and really anything a person might need) for those seated were very friendly and happy to serve.
Wonderland
5 out of 5
We ate at Wonderland and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Some of the concoctions we didn't care for but it was fun to try different things. I had the halibut cooked in a bag and it was phenomenal! My husband had the short ribs and he said that his dinner was very good. The world dessert was delicious. The Mad Hatter interacting with the guests was fun to watch. Our server Zoe was so sweet and explained each dish and all of it's ingredients so well.
Sorrentos

Pizza is pretty good here. Nice easy place for a light lunch and also a good spot to sit to listen to whomever is performing in the stage up above.
Boardwalk Dog House
5 out of 5
Nice spot to stop for a quick bite.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We didn't do many of the activities, but the carousel was a must. Enjoyed watching others who seemed to be enjoying the lack of lines for the various slides, zip line etc. There were only a little over 2700 on this sailing.
Entertainment

Reviewed separately below because of different range in stars for the different shows.
Royal Theater
3 out of 5
Ok. So the two shows that we saw in this venue were not our favorites. "Grease" was just ok for us. It didn't compare to other big shows that we've seen when cruising. Maybe because of COVID they weren't up to their normal greatness...? Then we went to an entertainer that was brought in to take the place of the other main stage show that wasn't being done. We didn't think much of him.
Aquatheater

The show here was fantastic!! It was cancelled for our first reservation because of rocky seas, but we were automatically rescheduled for a fill- in show. Very talented performers. "Big Daddy's Hideaway Heist" was the only show offered here. You need to make reservations when you board the ship. Don't miss it!
Studio B

The only show offered this week was iSkate. It was very, very good! Talented performers and fun music. Again, reserve when you get in board. A must see!!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! Our room steward Inyoman kept our room immaculate. I asked for ice on the first day and he kept the bucket full everyday. 98% of the crew that we interacted with were over the top friendly and helpful. Nenites was our main dining room server and she was so sweet and attentive. My husband is hard of hearing and she would always make sure he was understanding her.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We did not see any areas that looked dirty. We saw crew members constantly cleaning and sanitizing.
Cabin / Stateroom

Loved the cabin! We had a balcony. Lots of storage. Bed was comfortable. Good, large pillows. Our bed was by the balcony. Room was always spotless thanks to Inyoman.
Ship tip
Don't miss the aqua show and the skating show. Eat in the main dining room.
We didn't plan on staying long off the ship at this port. We enjoy snorkeling and didn't think there would be much to see here. But brought our snorkel gear to see what we could see. Presently surprised! We spent much longer exploring in the water at Chill Island than we thought we would. Had lunch at the Chill Grill, which was pretty good. Did a little shopping and went back on the ship to enjoy some uncrowded pool time.
We love St Maarten. We did our own excursion which we had done before. It was AMAZING again!! Check out Captain Alan's Boat Charters snorkeling trips. We had so much fun and saw such a variety of sea life.
We got a taxi to Coki Beach. $10 per person each way. Spent time snorkeling and swimming. Walked over to Coral World. We were really surprised how much we enjoyed just walking around looking at the exhibits. I think it was $23 per person. Well worth it to us.
Very quick and easy. We had breakfast in the windjammer and then just waited in our room for our tag number to be called. The facial recognition makes it so you just pause for a face scan, pick up your luggage if you used luggage service and walk out of the terminal.
Weve done 8x Oasis class cruises, on all four Oasis class ships. Weve sailed them at max capacity, at 2700, and at 1100.... Weve had a great time on each and every cruise! 🙂 Part if the issue right now, is the goofy covid policies cause congestion in venues and on some areas of the ship. They are not scaleable for full capacity loads. But, its looking like things will be relaxing pretty soon.. 👍
