Review summary

It was a very average cruise. I've been on better and on worse. I assume this has more to do with COVID than anything else.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and stress-free

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food quality was good overall. However, in the main dining room there seemed to be a desire to cram parties next to each other despite COVID, social distancing, and space (the ship was only about 1/3 full...but you still sat in a crowded section).

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Most of the activities were the same as usual - but the hours were cut significantly. It was great that most of them were still available but it was difficult trying to schedule every day down to the minute in order to enjoy them.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The Ice Skating shows were the best performances I have ever seen on any cruise ship (this was our 7th cruise). However, the main comedian was horrible (not funny...and did the same material for every performance...including the family and adult shows).

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Overall the service was good - what I've come to expect on cruise ships.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Overall the ship was clean and maintained well. However, on at sea days there seemed to be a lot of drinks/plates left on the deck for hours. The impression I had was that the ship was understaffed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was upgraded at last minute. No complaints.

Ship tip

You may need to plan each day thoroughly if you want to see and do certain activities. In the past, I feel like we could wing it day by day. But now due to staffing issues and COVID, the options are less, the hours of activities/shows are less, and the entire ship seems to shut down by midnight.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
Did the NASA/airport drop off excursion. Do NOT recommend. It's pricey for what it is and you only get a very small sampling of NASA (tour guide forces you to leave exhibits whether you want to or not...keeps the entire group together for the entire time). You'd be better off renting a car and going to NASA for the day.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
Catamaran and Snorkeling excursion. No complaints.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
Catamaran and Snorkeling excursion. No complaints.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
It's nice that RC has their own island with lots to do. However, it's difficult to navigate and very easy to get lost.
