Even though CDC recommended not taking a cruise in Jan 2022, we lifted and shifted this cruise and RC kept our money for nearly two years. SO we decided to go anyway, and it was pretty much what we expected. No more than 6 in an elevator at one time, or just your group. Mask wearing everywhere inside the ship except when seated and eating or drinking. Several things closed for the week of our cruise do to staff with covid, and several shows canceled for the same reason. It was still nice to get away and to be back at sea again. Happy we had such a large suite and spent a lot of time having cocktails on our balcony, Very relaxing!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation went very well and quick.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Ate in Costal Kitchen mostly and food was good, but menu repeated several times on a 7 night cruise. 150 Central Park is our favorite restaurant, great food. Chops was as good as usual. Jamie Oliver's was nothing special, would not eat there again, just because it was more like eating at Olive Garden. Park Cafe, is a great place to get a quick salad, panini, or roast beef sandwich. Jonny Rocket's is great if your craving a juicy hamburger, it was only open from noon until 5 PM everyday on this cruise. Sarbor and the Solarium Bistro was close for our sailing.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
There were activities, but not as plentiful as usual.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Most shows canceled on this cruise due to staff and COVID. No Grease, no Dive shows, Just ice skating shows. Even the Comedy shows were just Royal Caribbean Comics. This was not the best cruise date for entertainment.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service and staff was great and all seemed very excited to be back onboard again. Our stateroom attendant was horrible, never saw him until 10 PM on the first night, he was forgetful, for got ice, towels, to bring us our crystal block award, gave us regular luggage tags and not the suite tags....
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship was beautiful, clean and less than 50% full, so was easy to get around and see everything without crowds.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had an Owners suite and it was very large and very comfortable (especially for just the two of us). It had a large balcony with a table and 4 chairs, and two padded loungers. Bathroom was very big with a deep tub, shower, bidet, double sinks, but the shower was the size of an old phone booth, and leaked water outside of the shower, because it had no seals at the bottom of the door.
