Review summary

Overall this was a great ship for all ages. Elevator wait times are a little long so if you can take stairs I would do that. Staff is great and the ship is beautiful!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We got the expedited embarkation by scanning our passports in the Royal App. We went from curbside to on the ship in 15 minutes! So easy!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
WINDJAMMER: The scrambled eggs at windjammer were never cooked enough for me. There were always plenty of other options. It always seemed to be difficult to get a table. We would walk around for 10-15 minutes looking for a table to sit at before we got our food. Didn’t seem to make a difference what time we went. MAIN DINING ROOM: Full disclosure: I am a bit of a picky eater. I don’t like fish and not a big fan of red meat. By day 4 I was getting pretty board with chicken. I don’t like Cesar dressing but they were always willing to change that for me. Didn’t meet a desert I didn’t like! SABOR:-Specialty Dining: We went for lunch one afternoon. No complaints. Not my type of Mexican food but it was great.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty of activities onboard. I love to just relax by the pool. Love the slides

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Fine line (aqua show) This is a must see! Amazing every time. Make sure you have reservations before you board the ship. Grease : I didn’t see this show on this trip but have seen it on this ship in the past. It was great and I would recommend!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
No complaints. Staff is always wonderful!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Seemed to be something splattered on the walls in our room but I usually wipe them down with hydrogen peroxide wipes anyway when I get in the room so no biggie for me. This ship is not my favorite size. I prefer Freedom Class size. Things just seem far apart, if you are with a group it isn’t always easy to find people so plan ahead times and places to meet up. Common areas always seemed clean.

Ship tip

You don’t have to do everything! Stop and enjoy yourself. This is vacation. Take time to roam the ship or just sit and relax by the pool. If we are stopping at a port that I am not particularly excited about or have been to before I enjoy staying on the ship while everyone else is in port.

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We had kind of an overcast day and it was a little cooler. The water in the pool was very very cold. But great stop!

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

I recommend Captain Bob! Not through RC but he made sure we were back in plenty of time and we got to see so much of the islands. Snorkeling, beach time boat ride! Had an amazing day! Best excursion I have ever done!!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We just roamed around on our own shopping and went to Castillo San Cristóbal. All with it walking distance of port.

Disembarkation

Got in line at about 6:30 am. That put us about 50th or so in line. Doors opened at 7:00 am and we were off and to our shuttle in 10 minutes!

Just an FYI. We were on same cruise and never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the Windjammer if that much and many times had no wait at all. Typically we were at breakfast about 9 and lunch around 1. Dinner was always in MDR
