Good trip but not one of my top 5. Some of my online reservations were not available when I boarded. The food was good, but not great. The activities were plentiful and the shows were EXCELLENT! comparable to NCL and DCL. The wifi worked better than in the hotel I stayed in!
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Even though I had filled out all embarkation paperwork and even uploaded photos they claimed there was no record of this and had to do the whole thing over again in port. Real waste of 30-45 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was good but used mostly free venues and was NOT exceptional. Also, I had the flexible dining schedule but had made reservations for preferred times online weeks before i left. However, when I got onboard they had NO record of these reservations and had to make them all over again. Lucky for me I was VERY early onboard and my preferred times were all available.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Many activities availanle onboard but NCL has more.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows were broadway grade and they had other types of entertainers throughout ship that were EXCELLENT. This is RCL's strongest area.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Room steward and waiters good but the staff at customer service/guest relations desk was AWFUL. Argued with me about a OBC I had proof I was supposed to get but didn't get without looking at my email. Ended up giving it ti me because I refused to back down but made it seem like it was a favor so I would just leave.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The second most beautiful/magnificent ship I have ever been on (DCL Dream takes top bill for elegance and details). The neighborhood concept was new for me and I really liked it. Ship full of innovations. Absolutely gorgeous.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
The cabin itself was nicely laid out, however I had an 8th deck boardwalk balcony stateroom and the noise came through the glass doors. Could not nap because of merry-go round sound and at night I couldn't sleep until the shows in back of ship were done. Sometimes they went on until close to midnight.
Ship tip
DO NOT BOOK BOARDWALK BALCONY STATEROOM IF YOU ARE LIGHT SLEEPER!!!! The noise from that busy neighborhood definetely goes through glass doors. No wonder you get free soda packages if book.
I am in total agreement with you! We went on Harmony and had pretty much the same experience! Yes it’s a beautiful and huge ship but... the food and entertainment was eh. We kinda expected it to be a wow factor. We heard a lot of pinnacle members even complaining about the food as well. When we sailed she was brand new and we sailed the first 7 night over here so we just figured they was trying to finish out the food from the Mediterranean sailings. Don’t think we will go on her again. We prefer Carnival anyway, and yes we did go another Royal ship just to judge more fairly. Just our preference.
Harmony of the seas is a beautiful ship never had any problems with staff or crew members always do your homework and research before you pick your cabin if you’re going to pick a cabin on boardwalk or central park where there are public areas just remember there’s going to be some noise my suggestion to you is to pick a ocean view cabin with cabins above you and cabins below you there will be no noise keep on cruising I love to cruise
