Review summary

This cruise being my third one, (second with RCCL), was nothing less than my expectations. Stick to the main dining room and only go to premium restaurants if you really want to.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Royal Caribbean has always been the best and quickest embarkation experience.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room is the best place to have every meal.

Park Cafe

5 out of 5

Good breakfast choices as well as lunch. I recommend the Asian Noodles & Shrimp salad. You might like it even if you don't eat salad! (Like me)

Main Dining Room

5 out of 5

Eat here as much as you can. I had the shrimp cocktail every night for an appetizer. Try the baked Alaska for dessert when you see it as it is really good and is only out one night.

Johnny Rockets

4 out of 5

Don't come here for lunch/supper as it is extra and the food is greasy and there is way too much of it. Breakfast here is amazing and included though.

Izumi

5 out of 5

I know I said not to go to premium restaurants but you should consider this one! Great hibachi experience!

Cafe Promenade

5 out of 5

Always get you some o that lemon pound cake!

Bionic Bar

5 out of 5

GET THE ROBOTS TO MAKE YOUR DRINKS!!!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools offer a good variety and the waterslides had relatively short lines.

Royal Promenade

4 out of 5

Full of energy constantly! Sometimes the celebrations can be a bit annoying as are the photographers on formal night. All you need to take is a small detour though.

Running Track

4 out of 5

Great place to walk along the outside of the boat and see the ocean even if you don't exercise.

Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center

4 out of 5

They have great smoothies at the bar here, lots of gym equipment and direct access to the running track.

Harmony Dunes

3 out of 5

The mini golf is ok. Try to avoid hitting balls over the glass into central park.

Main Pool

4 out of 5

This pool is just boring and square and can be deep for little kids. (4' 1" - 4' 9") It is still the best choice though.

Guest Services

5 out of 5

Met some Canadian guy and was glad to see someone from my country works on the boat. Very friendly!

Conference Center

5 out of 5

10 characters

Beach Pool

4 out of 5

Too salty. Only go if its the only one open.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Onboard comedians and stage productions were excellent and well performed.

Royal Theater

4 out of 5

The royal theatre is extremely impressive and huge. They do some great shows too!

Aquatheater

4 out of 5

Lots of cool shows performed here. See the fine line!

Central Park

4 out of 5

Cool view from our room. Think the plants are real.

Children's Programs

We did not visit the kids clubs.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
While our waiters at dinner were a bit inefficient, our cabin attendant, Carl, always did a great job cleaning the room and creating towel animals.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship's design is incredible, and the layout makes it easy to cross from end to end. I think the elevators would be better off with a destination dispatch system for efficiency and to make them less crowded.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was decently sized and very accommodated. There were only 4 electrical outlets, 3 of which right next to each other.

Ship tip

Don't get spray sunscreen on your SeaPass Card.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
I think the terminal at Port Everglades is decently sized and can certainly handle the 6,500 people who board the ship.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
While in St. Maarten we did Adventure St. Maarten - The Race. It was not much of a challenge but provided opportunities to see the city.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Did Mofongo & Mojito. Went on a 2-hour walking tour through San Juan and then went to a hole in the wall restaurant and learned how to make a mojito and the signature local dish, Mofongo.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
Obviously, this will not be an authentic Haiti experience as it is owned by RCCL. The vendors in the vendor area are quite aggressive and use some quite shady sales techniques. Would not recommend walking by that area. Take the tram. We rented a beach bed and had some drinks covered by our drink package. Also did the water inflatables and the alpine coaster.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
RCCL has the whole terminal thing down pat in all areas but I recommend you carry all your bags off the ship yourself as they can lose them sometimes.

Wow. Thanks for the great review. You gave quite a lot of good information. We are going on the Allure in November and hope it is similar. Thanks again
