Review summary

Many areas seemed understaffed. Where lines would form for shows, activities, etc. there was often confusion and no one there to direct people. You shouldn't have to show up an hour prior to a show to get a seat. That's a waste of valuable vacation time!

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Very disorganized. They called one group of passengers and everyone rushed forward. They kept telling people to sit, but did nothing to encourage or enforce it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The service was hit or miss. The food was pretty good. However, some items were a disappointment. As is usually the case, several of the desserts looked better than they tasted. My husband usually enjoys the creme brulee, however it was cold and inedible the couple of times he tried it. Jamie's was not good. One pasta tasted like Chef Boyardee. Ick. The server was the only bright spot of that meal. Wonderland was wonderful. Chops was good as always.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The lines were often long and unorganized. The practice of letting certain cruisers with a special status cut lines is getting out of control. When my daughter was in line for the Flow Rider, several young children repeatedly cut the line making it take forever for anyone else. It sends the message that although we cruise 1-2x a year, we don't matter.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were very good. As is often the case, the storylines are out there, but the performers are excellent.

Children's Programs

Traveled with teens who did not choose to use the teen areas.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Some of the dining staff was less than on the ball, while others were very good. We had 2 cabins and it took 2 days to get the bed split in one of them.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean. You can tell that a lot is put into maintenance. However, some of the chairs in the main dining rooms are cracking and peeling.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The beds are horribly hard. The steward brought a topper, but it was pathetically thin and did not make a difference. He tried, but... I don't know who is in charge of RC's bedding, but they need to step up their game. 2 star hotels have better bedding.

Ship tip

Know that there are a lot of people on the ship and be prepared for lines and disorganization. Make the best of it and don't let it ruin your vacation!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida Did not visit port

No interest

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
We travelled to Maho beach and Mullet Bay on our own. Had a good day. Allow plenty of time for travel, as traffic can be bad.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
We walked to El Morro on our own and also walked around the city. It was a pleasant day.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
We rode the Dragon's Breath. All 5 of us, ages 14-51, enjoyed it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and worry free.
