Review summary

VERY UNHAPPY AFTER 20 plus cruises with royal,I was looking forward to the new ship as we were on the allure and oasis many many times, but to find out you now have to pay per item for room service, special restaurants increased price by $7.00 per person and all the food was sub stand compared to six months ago when I was on the Oasis of the sea, smaller portion, Steak cooked differently

Took away free shampoo and conditioner that we earned being EMERALD MEMBER.We earned those and now we have to ask...FORGET THE CASINO EVERYBODY WAS LOSING MONEY NO WINNERS...They switched to 95% automatic card shuffle. So you can't even tell if high card should be coming up, and if you wanted the hand shuffle the minimum was $25.00 instead of $10.00.

WILL NEVER GO ON THAT SHIP AGAIN... So many things to mention like $4.13 for a can of soda from room service and $3.00 for two eggs $3.00 for bacon $3.00 for Pancakes..

Someone should have told us before we went on this SHIP how they were gonna nickel and dime you for 7 days. NOT WORTH THE PRICE.. Go on smaller ship...

Room service was totally complimentary when I was onboard Jan 28- February 4th.

I still don't even know why they have room service in a ship ( unless you're sick in the room a list), you're on a ship you can find food anywhere stop complaining and get your butt out of the room!!!! Lol I've been to many cruises and never had room service, I guess we like to spend more time on having fun that find something to complain about. And FYI every casino you go in the world you odds on winning are very low, so if you don't want to lose don't play lol

We are formerly RCI cruisers.  The one we have coming up on Jewel on Sunday will probably be our last with them.

RCI has proven they don't care if their customers return.  It's better for them, RCI, if only new people cruise with them as they don't get any free drinks.

We've decided to move to Princess.

I have 26 cruises with Royal, you are right they are nickel and dining us to death. The quality of the cruise is also not like it used to be, food really going down hill.

@heartnsole please let us know about your experience. I will be going on Harmony in October with my family.

We have cruised at least 20 cruises and with our kids in their 20's now and we all love RCCL. LOVE THE BIG SHIPS. and usually room service is free unless it is between 12am and morning. And couldn't one run up to buffet and bring you down a plate of food. Some people are hard to satisfy. We have had a great time on each cruise!

There are items on the room service menu that are free. Several of the restaurants also offer free dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you don't have a beverage package, sodas can get pricey which is why chose not to purchase any sodas on the ship. They offer a 6 pack of sodas for $12. There is a form in your room to fill out and leave for your room attendant. The only speciality restaurant we dined at was Sabor and two of us ate for less than $20.

Everyone has there own opinions about the ships. Some people just don't do big and should stick to smaller ships. Im probably gonna get some flack for this being I've only been on 2 cruises but I am one of those people that do plenty of research before going on any vacation. I learned from my first cruise on Majesty to last year on the Allure that I so love the bigger ships better thats why I'm going on the Harmony this summer. We went with our 16 & 20 yr olds and they don't like anything but they said they had a ball on the ship. We didnt mind the crowds. And for dinner we booked ahead of time and barely waited. Also the same for the shows. I know it wasnt the Harmony but still a big ship nonetheless. All I'm saying really is do your research first before you go on a ship especially one of the bigger ships.

Wowzers, sad that they are nickle and diming everything.  Guess you would be better off on the smaller ships

So sorry to read how disappointed you were with your cruise.  I have been on the Oasis and the Allure and had a wonderful experience.  Now the Oasis has moved to my local port.  I am thrilled.

If this is the trend for RCI, then I may just stay with the lines I've got experience with.
