Review summary

This was only my 5th cruise with RCI but until Harmony have loved them! From start to finish it was a disaster! Boarded to find out itinerary was changed due to weathe (not RCI fault but huge inconvenience) and spent the whole 1st day rearranging reservations and excursions. Most of the excursions were sold out at that point so we couldn't reschedule the snorkeling my son wanted to do.  This was his yearly birthday cruise we take.  He has food allergies so we extremely diligent about emailing prior to booking and even called RCI when we made the booking to ensure Harmony could accommodate as it is such a large ship and we have only sailed the smaller ones and was assured it would be no problem. Upon boarding spent 2 hours speaking to MDR and getting everything set with his allergies and was told we could get room service and go to windjammer and speak with head chef when they were closed.  Called room service for fries, yes JUST FRIES, and was told they were to busy and he will just have to get fruit.  Went to windjammer waited 30 minutes to speak to head chef to order burger and fries and was told they were TOO BUSY! This went on for days wasting all our time to speak with people only to be told they were too busy and he is just gonna have to be happy with fruit! Finally on day 5 while we were in Puerto Rico instead of going snorkeling like we planned on our own we spent the morning looking for somewhere to purchase some snacks for him so he wouldn't continue to starve the remainder of the trip.  My son is extremely shy and hates making ppl go out of their way because of his allergies and the way he was treated was awful! He stayed on the room the whole trip and rented movies to prevent having the deal with the staff.  On top of all this bar service takes at least 30 minutes to get a drink and most days all the things they are so proud of like the water slides, zip line, flowridwr etc are only open for a very small amount of time and we never even got to use them.  Me and my hubby booked one special night for the two of us way before sailing online for solarium at 9:30pm.  At 9pm I received a call from them saying they are closing early and if we wanted to eat had to come now or not at all!!! I had just gotten out of the shower and hubby just went down to get a drink.  Glad I spent an hour getting ready to go only to have them cancel and we couldn't rebook because they were full so we never did get to eat there! Called RCI and their response was to refund us the amount we paid for the snacks we bought for my son in PR after we send the the receipt (good thing we save our receipts!) and that this will be a learning experience for them! Glad to know I paid $5000.00 for us to stay in a room and get NO food or service! Never again!

If you've been on 5 cruises by now, I doubt you are spending all this time in your room. This is so negative and unbelievable that you can't expect people to believe this story.
