Review summary

My family and I had the time of our lives on this beautiful floating ship.  Our mouths dropped to the floor upon boarding this ship.  It literally took us the full 7 days to see the whole ship.  So many activities on board the ship to do for the adults as well as teenager and children.  Our stateroom had a balcony looking out to the sea.  Just beautiful each morning as we sailed into each port. Pools with slides, wall climbing, and even the surfing was so much fun! Purchase all your items prior to sailing, so much cheaper than waiting til on board to purchase. Bring ziplock bags to pack some food when going off the ship. Use AAA travel credit cards to load money, atms are available on ship and AAA only charges $1.50 even though the atms states it charges $6.50 per transaction. Bring umbrellas for shade walking in the hot summer sun/heat.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

We loved the Windjammer buffet. Main dining room food was good, the beef was over cooked 2 times we ate there. Don't bother to pay extra money for the specialty dining, use the money on something else!

Cabin / Stateroom

Stateroom was just beautiful. I took pictures of the bathroom because I wanted my husband to transfer our bathroom just like it. We had 3 adults and one teenager in our room. King size bed, pull out sofa transformed into bed and slider bed came out underneath. Balcony was large with 2 lounge chairs and small table.

Ship tip

Bring comfortable clothes and shoes (sandals). We over packed, only need couple of dressy clothes for main dining, otherwise casual (shorts and tees) at the buffet was fine. Don't forget the sunscreen and sunglasses.

Make sure to leave the ship early, it takes about 3 hours round trip from the port to travel into Rome and back to port. About 20 people almost missed the ship because the transfer from the train station to the bus station, not enough bus was available. Keep track of time.

Where we don't have AAA is it best just to bring a bunch of cash for off ship purchases? Is the money the same or does it need to be changed for different currency? First time cruisers
