Review summary

This was our first cruise and the ship was a huge disappointment. The service was excellent but it wasn’t a comfortable stay in the cabin. Placing 3 adults in a cabin like that should not be recommended or allowed. The furniture and the decor needs to be updated or just decommission the ship. The excursions were great but then when we came back there was really no place to relax and put our feet up besides the tiny room with NO decent programming except ESPN and cable news. No decent internet to speak of. Had to leave the room to get connection and it drops all the time. Can’t say I’d travel again in an old ship like that no matter how “good” the deal seems. Also the excursions don’t say much of what to prepare and bring. No dress codes etc.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was not great at the main dining room. Better in the buffet but the park cafe and the food choices there was okay at best. Decor is very dated.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The pools are tiny. Smaller than an Olympic size pool for accommodating over 2000 people. No kids pool. Tiny arcade Game Center and barely nothing to do for teens. Not much else for you to do inside if you want a quiet place to relax and enjoy that offers the ocean views.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Better than expected. Full theater production and performers were good.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Teen club- basically non-existent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was excellent

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Common areas and rooms were always clean however, everything else is dated and dingy. It’s stuck in the late ‘90’s with some less than appealing fake plants and flowers in the adult pool area

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Not enough room for 3 people. Basically a size of a large walk-in closet. The bathroom is super tiny and we are a family of less than 5’7” tall. Shower curtains? Who uses those anymore? Very dated.

Ship tip

Don’t. Find another ship with same itinerary.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Quick and easy from the airport. No excursion

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Too bad we didn’t have time to spend at the port. Beautiful lazy River with great amenities and shops. The waterfalls excursion was good.

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

Port was fine. Right on the beach area. Having the umbrellas and chairs reserved and prepaid was great. Don’t have to worry.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
Nice port. The tour was fine. It gave us good information about the island and its culture.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Nice port. Roomy. Convenient bike ride station right on the port to start. Great excursion and the guides were excellent. Route was not bad for average person.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Port was convenient. Wish the old and new San Juan tour was a little longer with walking tours of the city. Had some stops but not really enough to know much.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very efficient.
