Review summary

Within our group we had multiple issues. My personal issue was that my credit card was never attached to my sea pass. I was told at dinner there was a problem with my credit card. It was very embarrassing. I panicked and called my credit card company as I was concerned there had been fraud (which, by the way, was an expensive call). There were no issues with my card, thankfully, but rather a disconnect with Royal. We traveled with two other cabins of friends. We all experienced toilet issues. One cabin also had heat & ac issues as well as issues with the shower.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We did not dine in a specialty restaurant. Neither of us had an issue in the main dining room but two of our friends had issues. One ordered a Chops filet with an up-charge (medium well, no pink). It was not pink but rather red throughout. By the time she got it back prepared correctly, everyone else at the table was through with their meal. Another in our party ordered the fish and chip. She said it was extremely greasy and chewy.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Did not participate

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We had seen the same stage shows before so didn’t attend. Saw a comedy duo. They did a lot of poking fun at their own ethnicity which, even thought not the same as our ethnicity, we didn’t find amusing.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Would have given five stars but the personnel at Guest Services were a bit on the snarky side.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We saw a lot of extra cleaning because of the potential for Coronavirus.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Had some issues with the toilet not flushing which seems to be routine for this ship.

Ship tip

It is an older, smaller ship without all the bells and whistles. If that is what you are looking for, pick another ship. If you want to relax and have a more personalized experience, then by all means give her a try.

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

We took the historic bus excursion and then walked about the market (which is very close to the port).

Port Canaveral, Florida

We took the bus excursion to Walt Disney Word. We had purchased tickets to the Animal Kingdom as we had never been there. Disney is so different and so much larger since the last time we were there. It took us an hour to get to and from the transportation center to the Animal Kingdom. Couple that with the hour drive to and from the port and you have already used four hours.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We did the “Right Choice” glass bottom boat excursion. This was our second time. I would highly recommend it. The island is beautiful and meticulously maintained. In addition, we enjoyed the tram with it’s multiple stops around the island.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Nassau is not our favorite port. Been there several times. We did the coral reef glass bottom boat excursion. It was a nice boat ride but the glass bottom boat portion was disappointing.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy & quick.
